Publisher's summary

Ian MacKeefe is haunted by the demons in his head, taunting him of his tarnished past. And then in the fire on All Hallow's Eve, he sees the face of Tearlach MacTavish, the man he'd killed and buried three years ago. Not a settling thought since this is the night when the veil is pushed aside and the dead are said to be able to come back to life.

Kyla has grown up with Ian, as her brother is his best friend. And while Ian thinks of her as naught more than a wee sister, she has fallen in love with him through the years, and plans on proving to him she is much more than he thinks.

But love is the last thing on Ian's mind, especially when their clan chieftain makes an alliance with their enemies, betrothing Kyla to the MacTavishes - and Ian is faced with more demons once again.

Can Ian overcome his past before it's too late for him to notice that the lassie he's considered naught more than a wee sister, Kyla, is a strong, beautiful woman who he is about to lose forever?

Exciting

Ian’s book would make a great Halloween read. Aiden’s sister Kyla has always loved Ian, who was found as an infant and raised in the household with Aiden and Kyla. Ian still treats her as a kid sister, or he did at the beginning of the story. Kyla is betrothed to a MacTavish as part of an alliance for peace and protection. Ian knows this clan, as he secretly lived with them for a year, and does not trust them. He goes with Kyla to the MacTavish Castle as protection and to try to stop the betrothal. Once inside the castle, Ian finds that he is right not to trust them. How can Kyla be betrothed to a man Ian killed and buried three years earlier? Is there a way to find out what’s really going on and to stop the betrothal? Somewhere in the middle of all this, Ian finally realizes that he loves Kyla and now has one more reason to stop the betrothal. It’s rough going, but they get help from some unlikely sources, including a mysterious beggar woman in a hooded cloak who seems to appear just when she or her information is needed. Who is she? Can they all work together to banish the enemy and try to bring peace? Is it possible that during this struggle, Ian can learn more about his past and who he really is? Maybe? You won’t believe this one! Ian’s story brings the saga to a wonderful conclusion. I really enjoyed the great characters, exciting story with plenty of danger, adventure, and mystery, and Tim Campbell’s entertaining narration.

Ian: Book 3, Madman MacKeefe Series

We are introduced to Ian in the first book of this series, as a childhood friend to Onyx and Aidan. You can't help rooting for Ian to find his happily ever after. And author Elizabeth Rose does not disappoint her readers. Ian MacKeefe is haunted by his past. The MacKeefe clan and Ian's closest friends, Aidan and Onyx, only know that Ian was away from the clan for an entire year. Where Ian went and what he did during that year has remained locked inside of Ian, tormenting him with nightmares. Ian's past makes him feel unworthy of love. Therefore, he doesn't invest himself emotionally with the lasses, but hops from one physical encounter to another. That is until Kyla, Aidan's younger sister is caught watching Ian seduce a woman. Ian is shocked and outraged that Kyla is in the barn. Not realizing she fell a sleep in the loft and was trying to sneak out unnoticed, Ian is determined to teach Kyla a lesson she will never forget.

Kyla has loved Ian her entire life. But Ian still views her as Aidan's wee sister. She's a woman now and wants Ian to notice her and love her, the way she loves him. Waking up from a nap in the loft of the barn, Kyla hears unusual noises. Realizing it is Ian seducing yet another woman, Kyla is so angry she just wants to escape the barn without being noticed. Unfortunately Ian catches her staring at his body and confronts Kyla.
Kyla is surprised and embarrassed by seeing Ian in all his glory. Something inside of Kyla stirs to life at the sight of Ian. Little does she know, Ian plans on kissing her senseless, just to teach her a lesson. Ian grabs Kyla and kisses her passionately. Confused at the sudden emotions and physical reaction he has to Kyla, Ian pushes her way. But Ian can't stop thinking about her. When did Aidan's wee sister turn into a woman?
Ian has so many questions running through his mind. As Ian and Kyla's journey continues to unfold, familiar faces are brought into this story. We get to catch up on Onyx and Aidan's lives. Weaving characters and animals who truly are their own characters into this story in a playful and quite humerus way. Author Elizabeth Rose delivers another excellent, fun, intriguing story of the madman MacKeffe's.
I enjoyed this story immensely and highly recommend this book.

Loved it!

Any additional comments?

Ian MacKeffe is the third thread in this tapestry that tells of the life of Ian and Kyla. He was the third member of the men known as the MadMan MacKeffe. On all Hallow's Eve Ian saw the man that he was sure he had killed three years ago.Kyla was the sister of Aidan and had grown up following them around. She had been in love with Ian forever and he only thought of her as a wee sister who pestered him all the time. Kyla had grown into a strong beautiful woman but would Ian notice before it was to late? You need to listen to this fantastic tale woven by Elizabeth Rose and brought to life by the voice of Tim Campbell.
