Publisher's summary

A family of four is slaughtered in rural Tennessee.

Two weeks later, a retired high school principal and his wife are brutally slain.

Two Satan-worshipping teens stand accused.

It's up to prosecutor Joe Dillard to convict them. A former defense attorney who spent way too much time defending people he knew were guilty, Joe is determined to win this case to atone for his past. But an evil young woman named Natasha is responsible for the slayings and Joe knows it. Natasha is walking around free because the two boys who have been arrested are too terrified to implicate her. Now Joe must risk everything—including his family's safety and his own life—to bring an evil murderer to justice.

Finally, a murder mystery without foul language

Would you consider the audio edition of In Good Faith to be better than the print version?

I didn't read, I listened.

What other book might you compare In Good Faith to and why?

An Innocent Client, also by Scott Pratt. It was a pleasure to listen to a great story without having to endure foul language, which I don't want in my brain and try to avoid.

What about Tim Campbell’s performance did you like?

He read smoothly and fluently with no distracting mismatched voices, he just brought me right into the story.

Love Joe Dillard

This is my second Scott Pratt Joe Dillard novel and I have thoroughly enjoyed them. Good characters, exciting, multi faceted story line. Can't wait to start the third in his series.

I love Joe Dillard!

I have read or listened to 3 Joe Dillard books and love each one, although book 3 was not as believable.. The characters are well developed. I thoroughly enjoy this series.

A very dark thriller!

In good faith is Book 2 of the Joe Dillard series. Joe has given up private practice and is now an assistant district attorney. This novel is about several especially gruesome murders by three devil worshipers the leader of whom is a beautiful young redhead woman. The setting is northeastern Tennessee. A subtext of the story is a serious health issue with Joe's wife Caroline.

I could have selected 5 stars rather than 4; it was a close call.

Another Good Joe Dillard Book

Joe Dillard is becoming one of my favorite characters. He's definitely one of the good guys. Appreciate the character development that Scott Pratt done with Joe. He's not perfect - definitely has flaws but has good ethics as husband, father, friend, and lawyer.

In Good Faith by Scott Pratt

I've really have enjoyed both book one and now book two. They are so well written that you feel as if you are part of story. Will be listening to book three soon. Thank-you.

Disappointing ending

Really liked the story...up to the climax. I felt that the ending squandered the potential for a more believable and satisfying resolution.

Joe must prevail

I think I liked this one just a bit better than the first book in this good, legal thriller series. When gruesome satanic killings start to happen in a community many are living in fear with no end in sight. Finally when a strange woman comes forward with vital information, the detectives are confounded at how she could have possibly known these details. It was a bit like a Charles Manson case, where minions were used to commit heinous acts to satisfy one person who is truly evil. Joe is wrapped up personally in this case and pulls out all the stops.
