About this listen

Beth “Fire Ant” Dalisay is the Navy’s top ace.

But the alien Crystals really don’t care. They intend on wiping out humanity no matter who stands in their way.

Pulled from her Wasp fighter, the Navy assigns Beth as a scout pilot with a mission to find the Crystal’s home world. But in an underpowered Mosquito scout and no weapons with which to defend herself, if she finds their home system, can she possibly survive long enough to report back to Navy HQ?

In a final clash between humanity and the Crystals, can one pilot make a difference? Can humanity survive?

Loved Wasp Squadron and Indomitable was book 5!!

I really like books by Jonathan P Brazee, a retired Military officer.
Indomitable is the last book of 5 in the Wasp Squadron series about a meeting by ‘us’ with Chlorine breathing aliens. It follows a young woman from a poor planet, FloraBeth. She finds herself in the Navy of Humankind and becomes the first Navy Ace!
If you love an action packed read, this is for you. The Narrator, Angela Dawe, is wonderful. She has a slightly raspy voice and can read both the female and male voices and make them distinctive. She gives the action parts a sense of urgency!
I don’t review books but I do listen to this series often so I thought I’d let you know how enjoyable it is.
Hope you enjoy it too.

Solid Strong Heroine

This is action packed storyline, just a bit convoluted at times. Still it all makes sense along the way and especially so at the end.
My own personal opinion is there should have been two narrators, male and female. It was sometimes confusing when Angela narrated in a male voice. The voice in question was used on a prior female character.
Well worth the money spent ,Sci-fi Space Opera at its best. Really enjoyable listen.

Good plot, twists but not boring

The story holds your attention and the reader keeps you focused on what is happening and wondering what is happening next. Entertaining and enjoyable. Not a story you can guess and be done with. Well read, doesn’t bore you to tears with same monotone voice for every character. Wish the series would continue.

Great space opera!

Great hero! Great characters! Great plot at a great pace! Holds its own with Mike Shepherd’s Kris Longknife series among others! Character interaction shows the role of people over technology in operations. The audio and reader brings life to the story and characters.

Riiiight…

“Gotcha sucka!”
Humanity takes their best pilot and sends her alone, in a subpar ship, to the alien homeworld.
Beth singlehandedly figures out how to address the alien threat.
Far in the future, the military has the same traditions, hazing, and tactics.

Okay, maybe that last one could be somewhat believable. 😜

“You get all the luck sista!”
And still with Beth kissing, clutching her cross (28x) and the worst cultural slang ever (sista 25x).
