Jared just wanted to celebrate his birthday and make new friends, but he quickly finds that clubbing can be dangerous. In fact, the whole world is a different place than he thought it was.

Werewolves, vampires, and faeries turn out to be all too real. Front and center of it is Steven Chang - alpha heir and all-round good guy. He says Jared's his mate. It's all a bit much for Jared to process, but maybe it'll all be okay as Steve says he's willing to date first. For a while, anyway.

Jared just hopes it's long enough to wrap his head around it all, hopefully without getting disappeared by the mysterious men in suits or anything weirder happening.

I love this Author's take on the paranormal. This story of shifters, Vampires, and Fae was beautiful. Love the flow of the story and the world building. I also loved that we got to see into the secondary characters lives as well. I already knew this story since I read the ebook, but Randi Johnson's performance made me enjoyed listening to it a lot more. He did a fantastic job giving each individual their own voice. Steven voice was the only one I didn't like, he sounded older than his father.

you will love this book I cannot wait until the next book comes out and we learn about the vampire and his mates and probably a little bit of the fairies mate2 I can't wait for the second book of the series it is going to be so good and I hope that they make it in audible very soon because I can't wait I love this series and I love the characters

I was not expecting to fall into this story so deeply and to like it so much. My heart ached for Jared and all the abuse he suffered. Steve was like a white knight coming to his rescue. I loved the main characters, but the secondary ones were no less endearing and captivating. Amazing world building and engaging characters, that I need more of asap!! The story is raw, intense, and gritty, but the characters kept pulling me in. Loved it. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing it all to life with his voices and expressions. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review.

This is my first Leona Windwalker’s book and I totally loved it. As a fan of fantasy and shifter stories, in my opinion this one is really good, with a pretty interesting plot about shifters, vampires, fae, a henious crime to be solved but also true mate love, and hot scenes, The story has some intense and difficult moments that could be a trigger because the topic so I recommend discretion. However all the happiness, love and how justice was served, will set everything right at the end. The part I enjoyed the most is how detailed the author created this world and how all the different characters interact in the different realms and in the human world. Of course when you add a wonderful story with a great voice acting you got an audiobook like this to spend a nice time while hearing it. An amazing reading!

This book is so full of imagination, I love that about it. It's unlike anything I've heard as of yet! Narrated amazingly.

story wasn't bad but the narrator was HORRIBLE I actually got a refund and bought and read the book, the narrator sounded like he was reading a children's story...it was bad

I enjoyed this book from start to finish, Although the rape scene was hard to listen to, once I got past it I enjoyed Jared. Leona Windwalker did a great job creating a unique world and Randi Johnson's narration was excellent.

Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes
What did I like about the story? A good series start, good pace, well crafted characters, nice world building and an interesting story line.

Leona Windwalker is a new author for me. I really enjoyed Jared. Not a typical shifter book where once we're declared "mates" the relationship instantly falls into place. I like that Jared freaked out at the existence of shifters, that he needed time and the relationship was given that time to develop and also that the modern paranormal's (shifters, fae, vampires) have had to adapt to their new modern environment.

I enjoyed Randi Johnson's narration and think he has done a good job narrating Jared. I had no problem distinguishing characters or feeling the emotions of the story. He's done a great job bringing the characters in this world to life.

Trigger warning:
• there's a sexual assault in the first chapter of the book and some further references to it at times during the story.

Note worthy mention [or spoiler depending on your POV]:
• this story features surprise mpreg, which (i think) is handled really well.

This fantasy world is interesting enough that I finished the book in one day and already put the next installment in my wish list. I love the humor, had me smiling a lot.
The reasons I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 are that I'm not a fan of mpreg, I think the story didn't really need that. Also, I think Jared's rape wasn't treated seriously enough, I don't remember it even being called rape at all.
The narrator was just great, I loved the different accents and voices, it was easy to tell who was speaking.
