Publisher's summary

Welcome to Willoughby Close...a charming cluster of cozy cottages, each with a story to tell and a happy ending to deliver....

After her husband unexpectedly dies, Ava moves to Willoughby Close, trying to keep her chin up and to herself as she’s always done - not answering questions, not making friends, and not seeing much of a future. Her marriage was far from perfect, but it offered her a much-needed security that has now been ripped away. She’s not sure what to do now that she’s 35, widowed, penniless...and unexpectedly pregnant with her late husband’s child.

Jace Tucker is the over-the-top, sexy caretaker of Willoughby Manor, and he can see beneath Ava’s glamour-girl act to the hurt she’s been hiding for so long. She has secrets for a reason - and so does he. The last thing she needs right now is a fling with a man who hides a past as regrettable as her own.

But with a baby to think about and neighbors determined to be her friends, Ava finds herself starting to change and even more alarmingly, beginning to hope. Can Willoughby Close work its everyday magic on a woman like her? And when the past comes calling for both her and Jace, will they have to answer for their previous mistakes?

Feel-Good Story

I liked this book a lot! It recognizes how hard life can be for those who don’t grow up in a perfect family and gives hope there are people who care and can help.

Should give hope to all who read it

This series is a bit heavy, yet it mirrors more about reality than many authors write about. This particular one in the series should give hope to any who have struggled.

Heartwarming

Kate Hewitt does it again…a wonderful heartwarming story. This is the fourth book in the series and just as wonderful as the previous three.

Kindness and redemption… engaging.

Loved this Willoughby Close book BEST of all so far in this series. Would that we all could be so understanding, kind without judgement and openly invested in helping ourselves and others find our best selves. This story of redemption and healing, as a result of deep kindnesses, touched my heart…

Easy read

This book is an easy read but there are areas left unfinished and I hope that they will be finished in the last book of the series. Otherwise, it is a good book and easy to read. The whole series has been interesting to quickly read during the break between Christmas and New Year and the first part of January.

Sweet Romance

The characters are easy to like. The story melds in with the series in a pleasant way. Good listen for commuting.

Great story of imperfect people coming together.

Love the complexity of the characters and the way that different people storylines come together
