About this listen
Software is becoming more and more important across a broad range of industries, yet most technology executives struggle to deliver software improvements their businesses require.
Leading-edge companies like Amazon and Google are applying DevOps and Agile principles to deliver large software projects faster than anyone thought possible. But most executives don't understand how to transform their current legacy systems and processes to scale these principles across their organizations.
Leading the Transformation is an executive guide providing a clear framework for improving development and delivery. Instead of the traditional Agile and DevOps approaches that focus on improving the effectiveness of teams, this audiobook targets the coordination of work across teams in large organizations - an improvement that executives are uniquely positioned to lead.
PLEASE NOTE: When you purchase this title, the accompanying PDF will be available in your Audible Library along with the audio.

Story
How can we apply technology to drive business value? For years we've been told that the performance of software delivery teams doesn't matter - that it can't provide a competitive advantage to our companies. Through four years of groundbreaking research to include data collected from the State of DevOps reports conducted with Puppet, Dr. Nicole Forsgren, Jez Humble, and Gene Kim set out to find a way to measure software delivery performance - and what drives it - using rigorous statistical methods. This book presents both the findings and the science behind that research, making the information accessible for listeners to apply in their own organizations.

But admiring people who start out with innate advantages leads us to overlook the distance we ourselves can travel. We underestimate the range of skills that we can learn and how good we can become. We can all improve at improving. And when opportunity doesn’t knock, there are ways to build a door.

Story
The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

You'd be unstoppable. In this book, Mel teaches you how to start high fiving the most important person in your life, the one who is staring back at you in the mirror: YOURSELF.

Surprisingly outdated for a book only 3 years old
Generally good content, but most examples are using 2000-2010 technologies and techniques. No mention of containers, etc.

Well summarised advice on how to conduct DevOps transformation
I enjoyed the concise way with which the topic was introduced. There was a brief description on why something needs that be done and enough concrete description but the book progressed with good pace from a topic to another.

Platitudes & Anecdotes of Limited Value
This book was hard to listen to. Nothing profound here and elitist in it's intended audience of old school management types. I want 4 hours of my life back.
