About this listen
Humanity will be free, no matter the cost!
Deep in the Guatemalan jungle, buried beneath a forgotten Mayan pyramid, an earth-shattering secret sits waiting. Its discovery will rip apart the illusion that humanity is alone in the universe.
Engaged in a life-and-death struggle for the future of mankind, Harry Rogers and Jess Cook are forced to protect this secret from the most despicable foes imaginable. They must race across the globe to complete Liberty Station, the first true interplanetary ship.
Only then can they search for the shocking truth behind what they've found. They have no room for error, because failure means death for them and subjugation for everyone else.

Not disappointed
Okay I am not a big fan of audiobooks for the fact I like holding them in my hands. With that said Ms Veronica did a fabulous job narrating the story. Pleasantly surprised.
Now Mr Terry did a fabulous job writing this story. I finished it in two sittings. The first I didn’t know was two hours long and the second I started as I was cooking and six hours later it ended. Was not disappointed and found myself a couple times leaning in closer in anticipation. Edge of your seat the whole time. I am so ready for the next book.

Rocket ride thriller with a dysfunctional family
This is an action/thriller placed in the near future where the space race has been opened to multinational corporations. The human technology levels are within of near future probability and has the alien artifacts wild card that can give us gee whiz in an ongoing series.
Narrator Veronica Giguere usually gives a superior performance. She uses her voice to bring drama and life to characters.
She differentiates female characters in “Empire of Bones” series very well, so I was surprised how blandly Jess Cook, the female lead in Liberty Station is portrayed. Jess is key because she has a subtle control of Harry Rogers, the male lead, and his father. She needs to take control of the series. Veronica's character development can guide the feel of this trilogy in future.
The action is first rate similar to Jeremy Robinson or Brad Thor. The male characters seem a bit flat, but this may be intentional both to keep the pace of the work up and to leave room for development in this series.
Terry uses the tropes of mother and father issues, and an evil brother to give the action a telenovela feel. All it's missing are opposing identical twins.

Hybrid Science Fiction
This is a interesting Book that has a bit of an identity crisis it is a mixture of thriller and mystery and Sci-Fi producing a
entertaining finished product.
The Military and futuristic Tech adds a creative element to a fun read.
With a great performance by the Narrator you have a winner.

Liberty Station
The narrator is OK but I felt she narrated the book slower then I would have liked. I would have liked some urgency in her voice when things went down hill.
The book itself is fast paced with plenty of action however I felt the author should have spent more time on the background of the society. I found it odd that France was run by ISIS and gangs. Where was the other countires in Europe? It turns out it all started with Iran, Isreal and Saudi Arabia and each sending nuclear weapons at each other. I would like to know where the other countries were. Where was Russia who has their fingers in nearly all the pies and China? The author never even mentioned North Korea. I would have expected world war three if countries started to use nuclear weapons at each other.
I felt that the author did not think this through and it actually put me of the book because it was mentioned a few times and also becasue the characters went to different countries some of the information came to light. I did not understand why the countires where being selfish and not get involved. It is unfortunate but also true that countries do stick their noses in other countries politics and that is never going to change.
The other part of the story I actually liked but unfortunatley for me this stuck more in my head because I felt it was not really realistic.

Action Adventure Sci-Fi
Liberty Station is an action adventure novel with a science fiction overlay. There is a lot of action and the plot is fast moving. It became difficult to stop listening to do other things, like sleep. I could see it being made into a movie. The downside is that it is the first book of a trilogy and the other two haven’t been made into audiobooks.Time to pull out the Kindle!

Mommy Dearest Part Two
Terry Mixon's "Liberty Station" is a good, but not great, action adventure with a minimal science fiction theme. The characters in the story redefine dysfunctional family, it is disfunction amped with steroids. The story combines daring do, an evil stepbrother, a mean mommy, the Mayans, a budding romance, and a space station. This is the beginning of a series so there is lots of room to expand.
Having said all that, this book is not as good as Terry Mixon’s “Empire of Bones” saga. “Empire of Bones” is a 5+ star "space opera" and I am a major fan of the series..
Veronica Giguere was a very good narrator.

Unexpected direction for Mixon, but not bad!
After listening to (and loving) the "Empire of Bones" series, I was expecting something a bit different than what was delivered in book one of Liberty Station. A large portion of the story details a strange power struggle for ownership of a long-buried secret uncovered on an archeological site. Industrial espionage and paramilitary tactics added plenty of action and kept me reading. The characters were mostly solid, despite the odd dynamic between the main character and his parents. Sadly, once the story finally leaves Earth and heads out into space, the book is nearly at its end! Maybe I'd hoped this first book wouldn't have been so ''Earth-bound''. Mixon is such a master in space, and I hope future installments will feature more of Mixon at his best. Overall it wasn't bad, and I will definitely continue the series.
Veronica Giguere gives a fine narrative performance here in Liberty Station, just as she did in Empire of Bones.
