Publisher's summary
Join Cecilia Blomdahl in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, the world's northernmost town.
Located in the Arctic Ocean near the North Pole, Svalbard is a unique archipelago that boasts stunning wintry landscapes, endangered arctic animals, and awe-inspiring natural phenomena. Since 2016, Cecilia has called this beautiful and remote location home. Along with her partner Christoffer and her dog Grim, she has adjusted to life at the top of the world—where polar bears roam free and the northern lights shine.
With evocative text, Cecilia shares the joys and challenges of adapting to an inhospitable climate along with advice and insight for anyone seeking to thrive in unusual living conditions.
Whatever your location, Life on Svalbard will give you a deeper understanding of why people choose to live in extreme environments, and perhaps help you find the hidden magic of where you live, too.

Story
When we talk about sex, we talk about womanhood and motherhood, infidelity and exploitation, consent and respect, fairness and egalitarianism, love and hate, pleasure and pain. And yet for many reasons—some complicated, some not—so many of us don’t talk about it. Our deepest, most intimate fears and fantasies remain locked away inside of us, until someone comes along with the key. Here’s the key. In this generation-defining book, Gillian Anderson collects and introduces the anonymous letters of hundreds of self-identifying women from around the world (along with her own anonymous letter).

Classic Cecilia Awesomeness
I found Cecilia on YouTube a few months ago and fell in love with her story and life in Svalbard. I loved that she narrated her book herself - she did a fantastic job! I have the signed physical book on its way, but couldn’t resist getting the audio version so I could listen to it while I travel for work. From season to season, adventure to adventure, and from polar bears and walruses to Grimm, the book is VERY interesting and entertaining. Loved!!

Beautifully written- I feel like I was there!
Cecilia’s reading of her book was exactly what I hoped for and it did not disappoint. What a beautiful walk through her life and time coming to an island close to the North Pole!!! The section about Grim made me weep. What an incredible bond, and fantastic audio book. Now I need to go get one with pictures!!!
