About this listen

World-renowned thinker and scholar Thich Nhat Hanh, considered by many to be a "Living Buddah", explores the spiritual crossroads where the traditions of Christianity and Buddhism meet. Living Buddha, Living Christ reawakens our understanding of both religions and the connections between them.

The best-selling author of Creating True Peace, and one of the most beloved Buddhist teachers in the West, Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hanh has been part of a decades-long dialogue between the two greatest living contemplative traditions. In lucid, meditative prose, he explores the crossroads of compassion and holiness at which the two traditions meet, and reawakens our understanding of both. "On the altar in my hermitage," he says, "are images of Buddha and Jesus, and I touch both of them as my spiritual ancestors."

Great read!

Great read if you are wanting to understand more about the world. Helps open your mind to the possibilities that religions aren’t all that different and we have a lot more in common than we may realize.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This is one of the most interesting books I have listened to. Great wisdom and insight. the gongs in the recording gave it a nice, reflecting calm. I will return to this book time and again. My thanks to all involved, JK

Gracious, Mindful, and Evocative

When one is touched deeply, one is healed. Reading this book today, has set me on a path of being deeply touched and thereby deeply healed. Further, I gained more insight about myself than I could have imagined or hoped. For this I am grateful. I have already begun rereading it.

Great book regardless of your faith.

This is a great book regardless your religion orientation. It draws parallels between Christianity and Buddhism faiths, while exposing conflicts between the religions interpretations of said faiths.

Just what I needed to hear!

Great listen/read for the Christian feeling indifferent about practicing Buddhism/Zen practice. I was raised Christian but find now, at 31, Zen Buddhist practices help with the struggles of everyday life so much more, but almost felt guilty about practicing in lieu of upbringing. Do not feel guilty!
