Publisher's summary

I'm the guy you come to when your spouse gets bitten by a werewolf, or your honey is kidnapped by a demon. I'm the guy who knows how to save you from an evil curse or angry vampire.

At least, I was that guy until the Society of Shadows sent me to Dearmont, Maine, a sleepy town that had a zero rating on the supernatural occurrences scale.

My plan was to spend my days sitting in the office with nothing to do except drink coffee and eat apple bakes made by Felicity, my new assistant.

But when a woman hires me to find out if her son has been possessed by a demon at a rich kids' party, and a young man comes to the office insisting he's been bitten by a werewolf, Dearmont goes from zero to hero.

Oh, and did I mention that someone in the Society wants me dead?

Time to sharpen the swords and go to work.

Pleasantly surprising

I really enjoyed this first book and looking forward to learning more. It felt like a preternatural moonlighting. With a little Dresden. And Greg Tremblay’s narration was wonderful. I have enjoyed several of the books he has read and am happy this one is now a part of my collection.

Maine and paranormal - what's not to love?

A PI with a memory glitch. His shadowy organization has exiled him to a small town in Maine. Strange things happen in this town and strange things follow him TO this town. An excellent start to the series, good characters that you can care about. The narrator does a pretty good job, but could be a bit less staccato in his delicpvery. Id'd buy it again.

Couldn't stop listening

What made the experience of listening to Lost Soul the most enjoyable?

Mr. Tremblay did a great job narrating. The story was engaging and pulled me in.

What did you like best about this story?

The action kept coming, the characters were enjoyable. The level of character depth was appropriate for what was going on, several people being tossed together for the first time, with the exception of 2 characters and their friendship and comfort with each other really worked. While there wasn't a ton of depth/background to the characters, which was right for the story, you could feel the undercurrents of there being more that will come out in future books.

What does Greg Tremblay bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love well narrated audiobooks, it lets me do something else (dishes, cook, drive, etc.) while "reading".

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Didn't want to hit pause.

Very much enjoyed the book and the reader. Book two is not yet available in audio but I'm hoping it will be soon.

Easy listening. Good story with interesting characters. A light on supernatural information but okay story. Listen to in one day.

Want a Jim Butcher like Dresden story but just as

Want a Jim Butcher like Dresden story but just as good if not better. You found it. This has been an extremely good story with excellent narration by Greg Tremblay. Adam Wright you masterful story teller. Thank you for a story that steps into the paranormal in a way that is both appealing and well thought out. The characters a re relatable. The tale not so unfamiliar that you can't recognize it as a friend. I look forward to reading/listening to the rest of the series. A P.I. unlike any you have ever read about. A story both familiar and different. A tale that leaves you wanting more. If you are at all a fan of modern tales of the paranormal/supernatural grab this book.

If you like the show Supernatural

The story other than being extremely predictable was fun and kept my attention for the most part. This is an extremely easy listen, uncomplicated with interesting characters. It is just over done with clichés and reads exactly like an episode of Supernatural. But overall it's worth a listen if you get it on sale or in a bundle as it's only 4 hours long.

too short

good start but it's too short. hoping to see a longer 2nd book. character depth is lacking and storyline moves fast.
