About this listen
Sometimes the most challenging situations bring the most happiness . . .
I’m Cora Fletcher, a twenty-something book-loving public relations executive, living with my overly Zen best friend and my attention-loving cat. I’m newly single and focusing on my exciting career, so I feel like I’m in a good place. I’ve even been invited on an all-expenses-paid Hawaiian vacation! The only catch? It’s a family reunion . . . and my family can be a lot to handle.
But I’m determined not to let that get in the way. However, the ohana drama starts even before we board the plane. As usual, there’s my sister-in-law, who’s bent on causing friction, the self-centered cousins, and my aunt who loves to party a bit too much. My mom has filled the itinerary with endless activities, and she’s even invited my ex-boyfriend in a misguided attempt to get us back together.
I feel overwhelmed, but then I get a blast from my past that could change my life forever. This is one reunion I did not see coming . . .Will I make it through a week of family togetherness? And will I be able to say aloha to someone I thought was out of my life forever?
Love and Ohana Drama is a romantic comedy that explores the challenges of family dynamics and reminds listeners that there is always hope for a second chance.

Fun and crazy
There is so much drama in this book as per the title. A crazy family filled with problems but I liked the characters and it’s a quick listen.

The narrator’s voice
The story was okay, but it didn’t warm up to me especially due to the narrator’s voice. It’s either loud and whiny or unemotional. I can’t keep a book I won’t listen to over and over.

Good Romcom
A pretty good Romcom. The story is about Cora and her over the top Fletcher Family. A Family and Friends reunion (to celebrate her parents 40th anniversary) and an all expensive paid trip to Hawaii. Throw in some surprise guests, to much alcohol, and family drama, you have a story. I thought over all it was a good read. I liked the main characters, Cora’s mother was ridiculous, but considering she had a great name 😉, I’ll let it side. There were some funny moments and some sweet romance. I didn’t like the innuendos of 89 year olds, getting it on, but all talk of sex, was behind closed doors. I think it could have been a lot shorter. A lot of repeating of what had taken place. Give it a read if you like rom cons with lots of drama and a little romance.
The narrator’s voice and tone were a little whiny for my taste.

Did Not Finish
Melissa Baldwin is one of my favorite authors. The reason for the low rating? The NARRATOR! Ugh, she is so whiney and 100% annoying. I just had to quit the audio. This narrator needs to find another job - PRONTO! Don't believe the other reviewers who gave the narrator more than 2 stars. You will surely regret it. Luckily, I also have this book in ebook so when I get the notion, I will restart it. However, this narrator left such a sour taste in my mouth, it will be quite a while before I can get that voice out of my head. I will make sure to avoid getting any more audiobooks with this narrator.

Fun romantic comedy
This is a fun romantic contemporary fiction/comedy.
I would say this would also be a great beach read/listen. The story takes place in Hawaii on vacation. The MCs parents are renewing their vows. This story has a love triangle as well.
The audio was fun, fast, the the family drama had me laughing. I also was happy with the ending.
I recommend. This audio is mild enough (pg) you could listen at work or around your family!

Crazy and oh, so much fun!
I love stories like this. The ones that are highly entertaining--full of drama, embarrassing moments, quirky characters, humor, and swoon. That said, I would DIE if my family was as crazy and dysfunctional as the Fletcher family is.
Cora's parents are celebrating their anniversary and invited (and paid for) the whole family, along with close family friends, to come along to Hawaii to celebrate. That right there is a recipe for disaster and it sure was. Cat fights, jealousy, recreations, and more lead to a lot of laughs and awkward moments, but there were also many sweet things to love.
I've mentioned before I'm a big believer in timing and Cora's childhood crush, Owen, is coming off a divorce, but now? There were big, sparkling sparks flicking between them--even with Cora's ex attending the events. I loved their connection and interactions, and the setting was divine. But I loved the family bonds and loyalty best of all. Sometimes family isn't just related by blood, but it's who is chosen and all the messy relationships were perfection when it really came down to it.
This is such a fun, lovable story!
Content/TW: mild+ language; mild language (kissing/some light innuendo); drinking/drunk behavior
