Publisher's summary

This is my second book of affirmations. I am a life coach who specializes in helping wounded adult children from dysfunctional homes move beyond their childhood brainwashing, so they can manifest beyond the limiting templates they were taught to believe were real. My agenda is to create a movement among wounded others that allows them to understand that until they confront the templates that were created through innocuous brainwashing as children, they will live their lives unaware as to their true potential, like robots on autopilot.

The affirmations in this book were created to work like missiles that go to the core of dysfunctional templates, which serve to help the brain reorganize what information it has stored in its memory bank as truth. Once a being is able to understand what thoughts are incorrect, the prefrontal cortex of the brain gets activated. The prefrontal cortex is where all logical reasoning takes place. As the brain digests the affirmations in this book, the CEO of the brain goes to work like magic.

As time marches on, the person who is hearing these affirmations begins to think above and beyond the old templates and undergoes great paradigm shifts.

A necessary step

I just discovered Lisa Romano’s work and I’m pleasantly surprised to find the perfect blend of self-help and spirituality. Although this book is not for rookies, Lisa takes your hand and helps you make that first, necessary step to clear the way toward your own enlightenment. Namaste 🙏 🤍

Truths. Insights. Understanding. Compassion.

This book is a must read if you grew up in a dysfunctional/toxic family and have spent your life thinking/feeling/living the consequences.

In the affirmations you hear someone express truths you have either just realized or have always known but not known what to do with; give you knowledge for insights to yourself and your life and your healing; helps you know that someone "gets" you; and helps you find practical affirmations to help yourself be compassionate towards yourself.

Thank you so very much Lisa for having undertaken your own journey of recovery and healing and sharing it with those of us on our journey of self.

Namaste

Must read ! Excellent !!

Lisa Romano does it once again ! If you are serious about your recovery listen to this book over and over.
I also recommend Lisa's other affirmation book and her book called Codependent Now What? I listen to these while I am driving. I alternate books. Each time I listen I soak in something new. Also, see her videos on You tube.
Great resources for help with codependency.

Sexist language at the end ruined it.

The affirmations are generally good, but the last chapter sounds like it's only for males. I would have been much happier if she had used "people" -- unless of course the chapter was for men only. Too bad; it really ruined it for me.

Kinda pointless

What disappointed you about Loving the Self Affirmations?

What is the point of listening to this? It's not a self-help book, it is not an affirmation tape. What is it?

What character would you cut from Loving the Self Affirmations?

Romano herself
