Publisher's summary

Welcome to Preston College. A top-ranked biology program? Check. Division one football? Check. A shy genius and a hot jock both stuck on campus for the summer? Now things are heating up...

Emmett

Last year, the cutting edge research project my biology professor tapped me for confirmed that fated mates are real...and despite the odds (and the fact that we're all members of a celibacy club!) two of my roommates met theirs.

I met someone last year, too. He was an alpha. He was a football player. He was gorgeous and funny, and really, really nice. Besides science, he was basically the only thing I could think about all year long. But alphas don't notice me and sports just confuse me, so now that Bryce Connors doesn't need me to tutor him anymore, I'll probably never see him again.

Too bad it will probably take longer than that to stop wishing I could...

Bryce

Nineteen years ago, my dad gave up his pro football career to raise me, and ever since the first time he handed me a ball I've only had one priority: realizing the dreams he never had a chance to. But don't get me wrong, I'm not just gonna make it for him. I most definitely love football, too. In fact, up until last year, I would've said that outside of my dad, it was the only thing I loved.

And okay, all right, maybe "love" is too big of a word for my new number one priority, the crazy-smart omega who saved my scholarship last year, Emmett Christianson...but then again, the way I haven't been able to get him off my mind? Maybe it's not.

That's why, when I head back to campus for summer workouts, I've got a plan...

Make Me Trust You is the third book in the Omega Celibacy Club series, a contemporary omegaverse world where the only thing stronger than an alpha's will is his desire to keep his omega happy, and where even omegas who aren't expecting a fated mate of their own sometimes still find them.

Imaginary tears of happiness with this story

This was a great book, and Charlie David was a spectacular narrator. Some advice with the book, it starts off sort of slow and the frustration at the situation shows up quickly, but trust me when I say that it gets sorted out just as quickly and things just ramp up from there in the wholesome and sweetness factor. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cavity sweet story with some grit at the beginning. The rather expressive sexual desire in the book is a nice big cherry on top (pun intended).

Oh Emmett

Oh Emmett. Sweet sweet Emmett. I love him. He’s too precious. I love this series. I really like how much the alpha’s will do anything for their omegas. I’m not usually and MPREG fan but this series is really doing it for me. Love Charlie David’s narrating. He did a great job.

Such an adorable series!

This is such an adorable series, and Charlie David does a fantastic job with the audiobooks. I'm so sad the next one isn't available in audio... maybe someday, fingers crossed.

Sweet romantic comedy.

Emmett and Bryce seem like a miss matched pair at first, but they are unwavering in their affection and dedication to each other. It would have been nice to see more of what they enjoy about each other, besides the chemistry they have. There are severally comically large misunderstandings that keep the reader engaged to see how or if everything will get sorted out. Angel does a wonderful job of building interesting, believable characters that draw you into their world. I'll definitely be back for more!

the ending was so cute! all the feels

This is a riff on the geek/jock trope you see in a lot of romance books. it’s well done, probably the best of the series so far. I love the first two but they are heavier and more angsty in comparison. this one has its tension but it’s more situational, and less “if they only had one conversation everything would be fixed”

voice acting is great, and the relationships between characters is deeper than you might expect.

honestly - just my opinion, grain of salt and all - but tristan really gets on my nerves. I get that he’s young and not fully mature, but his ideals and fantasies that he thinks life is about are abrasive to the point of damaging at times. early on in the book when bryce’s dad visits, his hissy fit in the hallway could have caused the dad to find out and make everything go nuclear. and then he really riled up Em, making him feel a lot more upset than he would have otherwise. at the very least, he could have asked if the privacy thing was in general or just in front of the dad. that would have literally cleared everything up and not cause weeks of stress and hurt.

also tristan has literally no tact. while being whimsical and unfiltered has its fun moments, he really takes it too far. he jumps to conclusions that are often wrong, and when he decides he doesn’t like something, he just immediately catastrophizes it and makes it out to be the worst thing ever, while trying to pull in random others to his side. again on its own the behavior can seem cute at times, but the nastier side of it can be dangerous depending on the situation. it’s good his friends love him and thankfully it doesn’t cause any true harm, but he comes close at times.
