Paige is furious. Every man in her life has left her behind, including Tanner. She's sacrificed everything for her shop. She won't lose it over some egotistical ex-boyfriend, even if he does have an air force-chiseled body. Her younger sister, Morgan, isn't helping matters. She's been gaga over Garrett since high school.

"To hell with that. If it's a fight Tanner wants, it's a fight he'll get." But how much is Paige willing to risk to win a cupcake war?

After twin brothers Tanner and Garrett Mann return from deployment to find their computer business burnt to the ground, they decide to return home to Pointe Beach and start over again. Except this time, they rent an old diner and open a savory cupcake shop, an alternative to all the overly sweet bakeries in the area. The last thing they expect is to find the Baxter sisters as their new rivals.

Paige and Morgan Baxter have their own past with the Mann brothers to deal with. Paige lost her heart to Tanner in high school, and after they broke up she found him with her best friend. And Morgan has always liked gentle Garrett, but was too shy to make a move. Now their business is threatened by the new cupcake shop, and they can't avoid the Mann brothers forever. When Paige and Tanner finally meet, they declare war.

This was a fun steamy read, yummy in so many ways! I loved the descriptions of the food and baking, and spent a lot of the time munching while listening. It was a cute plot with a bit of intrigue and mystery near the end.

The characters were interesting, and the story was told from all four characters point of view, just the way I like. Morgan and Garrett were perfect together. Garrett was adorably shy, and Morgan surprised him over and over with how bold she was now. Paige and Tanner's relationship was more difficult. Between Tanner's ego and Paige's trust issues, they had a lot to work through.

The narration was well done, Addison Spear performed different voices for each female character, and her pace and tone were great. Her narration didn't intrude on the story and really immersed me in it. I received a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Would you listen to Mann Cakes again? Why?

Yes, I would listen to Mann Cakes again because it pulls at my heart in a very deep and meaningful way. It speaks to my own life concerns and desires and fills an empty place that desperately needs completion. It is hot and sweet and everything wonderfully in-between.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the honesty and vulnerability between the two sets of siblings. No matter what they told it like it was and loved each other in spite of anything and everything. They followed their heart since they finally knew what/who it was they wanted. The fight waged for that love was hard and painful at times, but worth every savory second of the reward.

What about Addison Spear’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed the emotion and feeling she put into each character. She made me feel every emotion they struggled with and how much they longed to be a success at life since they knew what mattered most after years of mistakes and traveling the wrong road.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Life like food takes both the sweet and the savory to balance it out for a perfect blend of taste and and satisfaction.

Any additional comments?

This was a wonderful story that spoke to my heart on so many levels. It is worth the time investment and heart investment.

What odds that a pair of sisters and twin brothers would each end up in the cupcake business? Or that their high school antics would catch up with them years later? This steamy HEA romance also has a streak of murder mystery and enough intrigue to power an interesting story which remains charming and fun.

In fact, I enjoyed this so much that when the AUDIO came out I got to enjoy it all over again. Well read and vocalized. I had forgotten who the villain was and the suspense built well until the final denouement. Read or listened to, it's a great story!

Twin brothers return from active duty to find their business destroyed by arson. Now it’s time to start over... returning to their hometown and embarking on a new business venture that is in direct competition with a set of sisters’ business proves the be very interesting, especially since there is a history with the girls, and a pretty big secret!

Mysti Parker has written a very enjoyable quick listen. There are a few steamy scenes, so I’d say not really meant for the younger crowd.

I had no issues with Addison Spear’s narration. Well done.

Mann Cakes by Mysti Parker was a fun, sweet cupcake filled listen. At a little over five hours, it had plenty of time to develop the characters and intertwine a few different storylines to keep the time flying by. As the description states, Paige and Morgan own a cupcake bakery. Tanner and Garrett move back to town after an unfortunate mishap and open up a rival cupcake bakery. Paige and Tanner used to be in a relationship way back before he messed it all up and Morgan and Garrett have always been friends...who might want more. There's rivalry, Paige's son whom nobody is sure of the father's identity, someone seeking revenge, and of course romance. It was a fun listen. There are a few sex scenes, but nothing too crazy over the top. Addison Spear did a good job with the narration. She brought the characters to life and I'd happily listen to another of her narrations in the future.

This was a fun listen. I love the romance, the chemistry, the mystery and the twist in this story. Tanner, Garrett Paige, and Morgan are great character. I love the ending. Addison Spear did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed my listening. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook — at my request — and have voluntarily left this review.

What an enjoyable story this was. Funny in parts, heart breaking in others and truly heartwarming also. Both the twins end up getting a girl. Sisters of all things and competitors when it comes to work. This was the first book I’ve read or listened to from Mysti and I can say that I enjoyed it. The characters where well written, the story flows there are twists that you don’t see coming but at least it ends on a happy note.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This was a fast, cute and steamy read. I loved that the heroes were twin brothers cuz I'm a twin myself! The mann cakes idea was kinda hilarious and it was interesting how it worked out. I think the only thing I didn't connect to was the fact that they were so young and felt like they had to be married and have everyone figured out by 24. As someone who's a little beyond that I kept thinking back to when I was 24 and marriage was the last thing on my mind lol. I also thought both the brothers should have gotten their own books because everything they were all going through felt crammed into one short book. Overall I dug it, if she made another book in this series I'd read it.

Mann Cakes: A Beach Pointe Romance was another great read by Mysti Parker. Tanner and Garrett are twin brothers who return from deployment to find their business burned down. They decide to return back to their hometown to start over. But they run into Tanner's ex, Paige, and her sister Morgan. They decide to open up a savory cupcake business that rivals the sisters cupcake business. I loved reading Tanner and Paige's shot at a second chance, as well as Morgan and Garrett's shot at love. Addison Spear did a great job of narrating this book. I can't wait to read more by Mysti Parker. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
