About this listen

Mass murder and romance. Not a typical combination.

John Smith shrugs off his old grey life one day and decides to plan and carry out the largest act of mass murder by one single individual in the history of man.

He devises a plan that will take a year to accomplish by himself. On the day of the annual gay pride parade, he will watch from the distance as San Francisco is systematically destroyed by his own hand, culminating in a mile-long inferno along the route of the annual gay pride parade.

He's well on his way to success when unexpected people enter his life, and it suddenly is no longer a question of if he can do it but whether he can stop it once the gears have been set in motion.

Man Plans Most Devistating Mass Murder In USA, but

The title sums it up. One man decides that he is going to plan the largest mass murder in the history of America. Why? Because he feels nothing.

His target is the annual gay pride parade in San Francisco. Why? No specific reason.

The author lays out John Smith's devious game plan and how he can keep himself from being tied to any evidence, before and after the event.

As his target day grows closer, he notices women for the first time. An office tryst, his first "relationship" and then enter Harriet.

It is a very unusual book, I'm not sure how or why the author came up with the premise – but I wanted to listen to the whole thing and did, in one sitting. I couldn't turn it off.

*I had also committed to listening to it in exchange for my thoughts, opinions and this review.

Another reason that I couldn't turn it off and/or the subject matter was appealing was the performance by Zachary Liebenstein. He was able to capture the emptiness, without feeling & explained how Smith made his deadly plans and explain the methodology. An excellent job, as I said.

Notes: Mature subject matter on both the domestic terrorists and romance

Rating: I don't to be one to encourage mass murder or plotting there of, so I will rate it specifically for literary value not the subject matter. Four stars Overall, four stars for the Narration/performance & four stars for a well written and thought out Story.

Rating of R for the reasons given above

This is really hard because the subject matter is so disturbing yet timely (December 2015)

I appreciate you taking the time to read my review. I find that reviews help me in deciding whether or not to purchase a books, especially new authors or performers. Sometimes they are helpful and sometimes they're not. If you found this review helpful would you take a moment and select 'YES' below the next paragraph?

Feel free to follow me on Audible. My favorite books are contemporary romance and books by authors like Vince Flynn who wrote counter-terrorism, thrillers. However, you will find reviews from all genres that have asked me to listen for a review.

Authors & narrators, please feel free to take my review to any other media that you would like. You have my permission IF you include "review from DK via Audible" and it links back to this site. Thanks! You may want to tweet this and that is fine with me.

Mass Murder and Romance

"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."

This is not romance, it is random sex, with a plot to destroy San Francisco on the side. Or a plot to destroy S F with random sex on the side. Not sure which. I was a bit disappointed.
