Story
When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Born in a small spaceport on a distant planet, I dreamed of flying a starship, exploring wild frontiers and having one exciting encounter after another. I wanted to go everywhere, but life locked me onto the slow track to nowhere. Then fate dealt me a new hand, and my life changed beyond all imagination in the most amazing ways. But I couldn’t do it by myself. To fulfill my dream, I needed a team of starship heroes. Earning their trust and making them family will be just as grand as the epic adventures.

Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. Langley Powell died. Then, much to his surprise, he kept living. Sort of. And then he had to save the universe from erasure. Langley Powell was definitely the world’s most famous non-believer, a debunker of mysteries and exposer of hoaxes who lived a life of casual reason and lucrative celebrity. But then he died. Crushed by a falling piano. So it goes. Instead of immediately ceasing to exist in a vast expanse of nothing, as he’d expected, Langley found himself right back on Earth — but a different one. Aided by an extremely surly childlike guide, Langley goes to work for the network ...

Twenty years ago, his father saved the world. Or so the history books will probably say once someone gets around to writing them. All Mihalis knows is the world he has been raised into. It's not a bad world, as things ago, he has a big and loving family, but there is the ongoing "war" that promises to be on-going for a good many years to come. Raised to the blade by his mother, and taught not only her ways as well as a good many of the ways of her people, but also the ways of his father's other wives, as well as the ways of his magic, Mihalis has had a very thorough education.

Story

Story
Twenty years ago, his father saved the world. Or so the history books will probably say once someone gets around to writing them. All Mihalis knows is the world he has been raised into. It's not a bad world, as things ago, he has a big and loving family, but there is the ongoing "war" that promises to be on-going for a good many years to come. Raised to the blade by his mother, and taught not only her ways as well as a good many of the ways of her people, but also the ways of his father's other wives, as well as the ways of his magic, Mihalis has had a very thorough education.

Story
Some dream of prosperity, of living a calm and peaceful life. But not me. Having reached the pinnacles of success, I can't stop thinking about the past, about a time when any misstep could spell disaster, when I had to pay, work, and risk everything for even the slightest gain and each day was like walking a knife's edge. That's all in the past now. This peaceful, predictable, and privileged life isn't so bad. But it's boring!

Story
All that stands between rowdy long-haul trucker Jill MacLeod (aka Junkmouth) and her family back in Boston is two thousand miles of asphalt. Well, that and the monstrous game the System has had her playing ever since it descended on Earth. The reward: mana. Jill's goal: kill, score, drive—and stay alive. Behind the wheel of a turreted forty-ton semi named Bertha, Jill hammers east from Montana through a gauntlet of every kind of chomping, hissing, rabid creature imaginable. Barreling forward in her magical soulbound big rig and chalking up a bumper crop of roadkill, Jill isn't alone for long.

Still Going Strong
Not every book has to have murder and mystery to be an excellent listen. Bob and Nikki are up to their old hijinks on Earth and recruiting more people for BSR. It was a light and entertaining listen. The only question is will Bob ever get any downtime.

Chris Ciulla IS Bob
Now whenever I’m reading the books, I hear Bobs voice as Chris reads it.
Did anyone else notice that Bob is the most literate hillbilly ever?
Anyone who watches the movies and tv that Bob is always referring to might be surprised to realize that they were also shows that put southern folks in the best light, and Bob has always tried to live up to that standard.
I’m just so sad that it takes so much longer to turn these books into audio books but we can’t rush a good thing. Mr Ciulla HAS TO read them, and I guess it takes time to do it right. Thank you Jerry Boyd and Chris Ciulla for these books.

Still going strong
I love this series and have listened from the beginning multiple times. It’s silly, fun, clever and positive, and the narrator is so perfect that I get lost in the story. Start from the beginning though or you won’t get all the running joke…mostly dumb dad jokes, which I’ve become fond of in this series
