Publisher's summary

It’d be the season to be jolly if only someone hadn’t set the stage for murder.

The Dickens script did not include the dead body on the stage. When a student at Cold Creek College is arrested for the crime, Professor Sheridan Hendley is cast in the role of amateur sleuth. Only the student is Marty’s nephew and the detective on the case is Brett. Tensions run high, friendships are strained, and the college administration is beginning to panic.

With visits to the community theater and interactions with quirky and defensive students and faculty in Fine arts, it’s clear the dead director will not be missed. As the plot thickens Sheridan is yet again drawn deeper into danger. Will she find the truth before the final curtain call? Listen to this holiday-themed mystery and find out.

Sheridan for the win

I always admire how calm and methodical thinking Sheridan always is in some hairy scary situations. Her intellect is forefront, and I liked that aspect. She hones in on details that others ignore. I enjoyed following her sleuthing skills. It kept me guessing. When I heard the guilty pleasure and the rationale it had me rofl. As always Victoria is a manipulating fiend with Maddie. Ugh. Great mystery. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Great book and series!

Murder in the Theater is #4 in the Cold Creek Mystery series by Christa Nardi. Professor Sheridan Hendley helps to find the killer of a community theater manager putting on “A Christmas Carol”. In addition, Sheridan teaching classes, winding up the semester, is the point person for the crisis management team at three College and is dealing with all the senior administrators. Not to mention the fact of juggling her personal life and planning for Thanksgiving with her parents and siblings! Phew! I love this book and series because it’s a standalone mystery, but the personal relationships continue to develop across the series. The characters are so relatable and believable in the workplace setting as well as home (esp. Sheridan’s mom). The narration by Alyssa Baumann is great. Her performance brings the characters and story to life. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.

Fantastic, Believable, Engrossing, & Enjoyable!

A beautifully drawn, believable plot and well designed, beautifully defined characters combine to make “Murder in the Theater” a thoroughly engrossing, and completely enjoyable listen! As a delightful bonus, a few main character-driven subplots artfully weave their way through the story, subplots that have this listener wanting more, and wanting it NOW, hint, hint, dear author! The dialogue flows smoothly, naturally, and is not only compelling, but completely believable! I really love that our author takes the time to make sure there are no loose ends, or unanswered questions, when all is said and done! Every aspect of the story has a proper finish! The narration that brought our authors vision to life is fantastic! I really loved everything about “Murder in the Theater” and I can’t wait for more! Five fabulous stars!

Entangled Murder Mystery

I enjoyed book 4 of the "Cold Creek Mysteries" series. Sheridan Hendley and Marty were friends. After Marty's nephew was accused of murder, Sheridan's skills as an amateur sleuth were needed to discover the truth. I was entertained by the twisted mystery presented in this story. I enjoyed the interactions of the characters. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Alyssa Baumann's narration was fine, and her performance enhanced my enjoyment of the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Great Cozy

Murder in the Theater
Cold Creek Mysteries, Book 4

4 STARS

Professor Sheridan Hendley must use her detective skills to work to find out who was responsible for murder. Several suspects, many motives to investigate or the show won’t go on. Great little cozy mystery.

The narration was well done, by Alyssa Baumann. Lots of feeling in the performance.

Sheridan doe it again

I own kindle & Audible version of this book. I found the audio version to be well narrated.

Marty’s nephew becomes the prime suspect in a death involving the college’s theater community and Sheridan becomes involved in trying to determine who really did the murder. Sheridan has an over zealous and politically board supervisor. He needs to a get a grip on reality and quit putting her in a tight spot.
The police could have figured this out but of course, Sheridan is more entrenched as it affects people she knows if the incorrect person is prosecuted for the murder.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Murder Mystery

I enjoy Ms. Nardi's writing style of murder mysteries. I am never able to figure out who the killer is until it is revealed. To me that is a good mystery where I am not able to guess. The cast of characters are great. This is another worthwhile book listening to by the talents of Alyssa Baumann, narrator.
