Publisher's summary

Christopher Ansley, Earl of Waxham, has constructed a perfect image for the ton - the ladies love him and his company is desired by all. Only two people know the truth about Waxham's secret. Unfortunately, one of them is Miss Sophie Winters.

Sophie Winters has known Christopher since she was in leading strings. As children, they delighted in tormenting each other. Now at one-and-twenty, she still has a tendency to find herself in scrapes, and her marital prospects are slim.

When his father threatens to expose his shame to the ton, unless he weds Sophie for her dowry, Christopher concocts a plan to remain a bachelor. What he didn't plan on, was falling in love with the lively, impetuous Sophie. As secrets are exposed, will Christopher's love be enough when she discovers his role in his father's scheme?

I’m still waiting for it to get interesting

You know how some books start out boring but you hang in there and it gets good? Well I’m 6 hours in to an 8 hour book and it’s still boring.

Imperfections to Adore

Sophie is awkward in word and action. Christopher is imperfectly perfect with flaws to love. Their trials with family and self doubt are well written in this wonderful romance by Christi Caldwell. I can’t wait to dive into book 3!

Great Book!

This is book two of the Scandalous Seasons Series. I REALLY enjoyed the first one, it took me awhile to enjoy the characters in this book. It wasn't so much Waxman and Sophia, but the others, just seemed so awful! It was a great book, not my favorite, but I was happy for her in the end. I'm moving on to Book # 3!

a very pleasant book

This is what a good story should have: great narration, solid story line, tension, HEA (at least for me), and characters one can feel sympathy for And, if not sympathy, at least something beyond boredom. This story scored high four me in all those areas. Of course, Caldwell's books are pretty much always a quarantee of a great read or listening opportunity.

I liked the story

The story line was good and Tim Campbell has a really nice voice. But his female voice is lacking. I have not heard a male that can pull off a female voice. I really wish these historical romances would have dual narration. It would be so much more enjoyable. Still it is worth a listen.

Wonderful!

Tim Campbell is such a gifted speaker he makes the story shine. As usual Caldwell goes in-depth developing b her characters. It has a witty plot never a slow moment.

Never Courted, Suddenly Wed

You will absolutely love Sophie's story! Will Christopher and Sophie really be a compatible possibility? If you give a listen, you may be surprised. 5 Stars for both the author as well as the narrator.😀

Good story . . . loose ends

The story could be great but the author spends too much time on the characters beating themselves up and not enough time showing their accomplishments. Examples: Chris says he's good with numbers but never gets an opportunity to show-up his father's shortcomings regarding failed investments. Why did Sophie's brother not tell her about her other proposals? Or, what's the point of Sophie's attempt to tell off an unfeeling father-in-law who's not impacted by her statements? Or, why did Sophie's father like the Marques? Why did the gossip column writer have it out for Sophie. And is "The ton" who thinks she's a clumsy oaf suddenly going to change its opinion because of one positive statement in a gossip column ?
