Publisher's summary

Nick Cominsky’s spiritual life is running on empty. With his passion diluted by religious routine and the sapping circumstances of everyday life, he longs to reconnect with God, but following the standard spiritual prescriptions just isn’t working. Since when did loving God become such an overwhelming, tedious task?

After meeting Jesus in person under amazing circumstances six years ago, Nick figured life would be smooth sailing, not coasting downhill. Why didn’t Jesus tell him how to make the Christian life work? Just when Nick is stopped dead in his tracks - stranded on the side of the highway with an empty gas tank and miles to go - he finds himself in rich company once more. Jesus has returned to give Nick the refueling he desperately needs. And like their first meeting, it’s not at all what he expects. “You must know, in the depths of your being, how deeply you are loved.” On a highway of unusual adventures, Nick finds that a Night with a Perfect Stranger might be just what he needs to make it back home.

perfect end to the trilogy

Having read the other David Gregory boss in this trilogy, I was anxious to listen to them all.

Opened my eyes so much!

Only thing I didn't understand was that in the first book, Nick said his dad passed away, yet in this book he's alive. Also, continuity for ages and time frames jump a bit but other that, an exceptional book!

Outstanding!

One of the best and most helpful books I've ever read. David Gregory is a masterful story teller, and Grover Gardner's performance is the perfect compliment to the author's work.

Relationships by their very nature are challenging, even exhausting...but also give us our greatest joy in this life. This amazing book picks you up and places you in Nick's life, as he struggles through "The Christian Life". Instead of being depressing, and limited, his literal journey, or Night with a Perfect Stranger actually opens the door of understanding or real knowing in our hearts, and invites us to walk through that door. A pleasure to read or listen to (I listened to the audio version), frustrations melt away as a new perspective, makes Nick's purpose, and our own clear...even in the most stressful of circumstances. A heartfelt rendering of Nick's life in Christ leaves you knowing this can be our experience, too. The characters and their real life struggles are down to earth and easy to identify with, as the story moves to a wonderful place, at it's finish....and takes you forward, truly changed, with it. Frustrated with this life and looking for more? Enjoy this wonderful work of fiction that holds the key to this life and the next.

Tired of Doing?

This is the final book in the Perfect Stranger series. The subject matter tackled within are trickier than the first two, but overall I enjoyed the novel.

The writing was just as good as before, but the discussions were sometimes hard to follow. Considering how tricky the subject is, this is not surprising. However, by the end, I did arrive at the same point as the main character.

A great novel for the struggling Christian, I suggest this to anybody who is weary of all the ‘doing.’ Yet the message is not just ‘Let go and let God.’ If you want to know more, pick up this book!
