Terrible

Very low effort first drafts of stories, but nothing done well or actually thought out. The author (a high school teacher!!!) mixes tenses in the same sentence. The author's attempt at diversity comes off as a checklist of identities to include, none written from a place of understanding or respect for any of the identities he chose to coopt. The author used "gross" as a placeholder for depth, and then published a first draft. I wish I could unread this, but alas, it's now a thing I've read :-(

Creepy Collection!

I love Eric Raglin's creativity and style! The narrator is also excellent. Hearing these stories narrated definitely enhanced the creepiness factor for me. At times, I was literally saying "NOPE" out loud. My favorite stories were "The Patch," "The Lord Above," "Remi Rook the Cannibal Cook," and "Smaller." Some of these stories are very intense, so I do recommend checking the content warnings at the end if you have any triggers.

Weird Horror

The trigger warnings should have been the first thing that was told. I liked a few of the stories but other stories that involved the death of animals or children I found disturbing. I love horror and gore but those stories pushed my buttons in the wrong way. I received this book from Audiobooks Unleashed and this is my honest unbiased review. This book may be you but it was not for me.

An excellent varied collection of the dark and the macabre

I listened to this one as an audio book. It's available onAudible, and I highly recommend it. Nightmare Yearnings is a collection of 16 stories of the bizarre and the macabre. They are varied and brief vignettes of horror sure to delight any fan of a good dark tale told well.
