About this listen

Isn’t it obvious we’re just best friends?

Adrian is my best friend. We live together, hang out, and he’s the best cake taste tester I could want.

Hugs are the norm, along with cuddles while watching horror films. I need someone to protect me during the scary bits, so why not Adrian? He’s almost a foot taller than me, so he makes a good armchair too.

Life is exactly the way I like it until Adrian’s sister drops a bombshell that leaves me questioning everything I think I know about myself and my straight best friend.

Can one kiss change everything? I’m about to find out.

Oblivious is an M/M best friends-to-lovers novella. It’s a light and fluffy love story, with a double bisexual awakening, a little bit of heat, and no angst. None. Zip. Nadda. There’s meddling family members and two sweet best friends who are totally oblivious about how much they really care for each other. Oh, and cakes. There’s lots of cakes.

Sukura cupcakes for seduction

If you are looking for a super low angst and sweet story this is it!!!
Amazing characters and world building. Lots of fun side characters that round out the story with humor.
A double bi-awakening could have been presented horribly, not so with this author. Sensitivity and real fears were present as they would be in real life. Kudos for the perspective of both characters anxiety and nerves.
It is super cute how these two men don’t realize they are in a relationship that’s more than friends until their families point it out.
This is the perfect Valentines Day read. It will make you want cupcakes and to smell Japanese cherry blossoms.
The audible version is very well narrated. The beautiful accents will immerse you in the story and tug at your heart.

Adorable!

This is one of my favorite novellas out there because it’s just so dang sweet and really shows the truth of how awkward a double bi awakening would be between two men. Their friendship then love and fumbling exploration is so dang endearing. I think Dan Calley did a wonderful job, but I might be biased because his narration of Adrian sounds like one of my favorite tv characters. Definitely a comfort re-listen!

No angst, best friends to lovers, bi-awakening loveliness.

What an adorable romance. A friends to lovers unlike any I’ve read before. Both Fitz and Addy experience insecurities in different ways, both thought they were straight, and they show a vulnerability that I haven’t seen in both MCs of a story before. At first, I was beginning to become annoyed with their initial nervousness while they started becoming intimate with one another. Like you guys trust each other so much in every other aspect of life, how is this happening? But once I really thought about it, that’s what made the story more realistic. Sometimes getting intimate can be awkward and that’s just the way it is! My absolute favorite part was them talking in the kitchen of A Spot of Tea. They really open up and talk about how important they are to each other and always have been. They’re conversations just become so romantic every time after that. It was so lovely and I loved it ❤️

Dan Calley is lovely. I enjoyed his voice so much. And I absolutely love hearing a book in the proper accents when I fail to do so in my head. A job well done all the way around.

A wonderful reading experience

This book was so much fun to listen to. The audiobook of this book was just such a wonderful reading experience for me. I listened to this one while doing my everyday life things and listening to this book just made my day better. This book was just such a wonderful listening experience and I just really enjoyed it.

I also love a good friends to lovers. And this one was the perfect example of everything I love in a friends to lovers book. I loved how well they knew each other and how clear it was that they actually were best friends. I loved how well the book established their relationship and I loved seeing them turn their friendships into love. This was just the sweetest progression for me and it made for such an enjoyable friends to lovers. This book was just so cute and such a sweet reading experience and it melted my entire heart.

A sugary sweet friends to lovers story

One of my favorite things to do, lately, is to find the audio version of a book I’ve already read and listen to it. You get to experience it all over again but in a different way. I read this novella a few months back and absolutely loved it so I was overjoyed to find out it had an audio version. Listening to the characters is a completely different experience from imagining their voices as you read. The narrator does an amazing job of bringing these characters to life. I absolutely adore Fitz and Adrian and I love them even more now that I have voices to put with them.

It’s heartwarming to witness them figuring out what everyone else already seemed to know: they’ve always been something more than friends. Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and these two men are the perfect embodiment of it. They’re so sweet together. All the cake and cupcakes Fitz made over the years probably helped with that! This novella was a joy to read and this audio version was wonderful to listen to. I will definitely be re-visiting Fitz and Adrian’s beautiful story in the future.

Original ebook review:

A beautiful story where longtime friends become lovers and no one is surprised except the new couple. Fitz and Adrian have been not just friends but best friends for the past 20 years. They even live together in the same flat, have meals together, a snuggle on the couch watching tv. They’re very touchy-feely for two men who think they’re straight and have no interest in one another beyond the bonds of friendship. Then one day, everything changes and they can never go back to how things were between them.

This is one of the sweetest friends-to-lovers stories I’ve ever read. I absolutely love these characters and their chemistry is amazing, even when they’re “just friends.” It’s also very sexy and romantic. A joy to read, I couldn’t stop smiling.

The sweetest friends to lovers!

This is the sweetest friends to lovers I have come across yet. Two best friends who get a push from a sister and realize that they have something special. Adrian and Fits have known each other for most of their lives and have lived together for quite a while as best friends. This story is incredibly heart warming and full of good feelings as these two discover this new dynamic to their relationship once they realize that their feels also come with some attraction. I love how the two of them support without pushing to see what works and what doesn't work for them and the heat level is slow but hot.

This story is definitely the perfect pick me up when you need something beautiful and Dan Calley's narration is swoon worth as well. I absolutely loved the way he voiced Adrian and Fits. This is a not to be missed listen!

Sweet Best Friends to Lovers Story

Cute story but nothing really happens. There is a bit of nervousness before they cross the line but that’s about it. It’s all pretty fluffy and very sweet. The narrator was really good, it was nice to listen to before falling asleep.

Oblivious

I read Oblivious a few months back and loved it, loved Fits & Adrian (Addy)! It's a best friends to lovers, light and fluffy love story with a double bi-awakening. It's fun, sweet, and sexy. Listening to Dan Calley narrate it really brought the story to life for me. His portrayal of the characters is spot on! I got all the warm fuzzy feels and more. Truly a great job by Colette and Dan!
