Publisher's summary
One mystery, one romance, and a flaming chicken.
He kidnapped the wrong angel. In the heart of Singsong City, a former member of the Holy Order of the Swords of Truth is making a new life as the Music Master of the crumbling music hall, whether anyone appreciates her or not. But when an assassination attempt is followed by a kidnapping, she is drawn back into the politics and cloak and dagger she left behind. With the help of an unlikely ally, she must unravel the mysteries of her own past before they consume her future. Will she find funding for her music hall and her killer, or will the secrets of her past destroy everything she's been trying to build?
Ogres Don't Play is the fourth book in the Singsong City series. It is a standalone paranormal romantic comedy featuring ogres, werewolves, witches, vampires, and musicians. It is packed with puns, battles, and a sweet, slow burn romance between the headstrong music master and the ogre who made the mistake of kidnapping her. Also sushi.

Ashley Perrin is fresh out of college and starting a job as a community liaison for the Third District–the city’s only sector with more alien residents than humans. Ashley’s barely found where the paper clips are kept when she’s beset with constituent complaints–from too much noise at the Annual Lupidian Celebration Parade to a trip-and-fall chicken to a very particular type of alien hornet that threatens the very city itself. And if that’s not terrifying enough, Ashley is next up at the office karaoke night.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
Ashe, a child of five years, woke to screams of his fellow villagers and animal growls. Terrified, he asked what was going on, but his mother grabbed him and fled their village with his father in hopes to escape the lizardmen that were raiding it. They weren't fast enough. After a plan was made up to split up and meet in a cave not too far away, Ashe's mother rushed towards that direction. Ashe felt better because they were losing the lizardmen, but she tripped and found that her ankle was at an odd angle.

Benjamin, Mark, and Chloe were all set to graduate college in a few weeks. Ben had ordered a strange object from eBay to use as cover art for a book he was writing. After cleaning it up (it was found in a cow field), he placed the strange device on his dorm room desk directly over the wireless charging port. That woke it up. When a housewife is ready for her midlife crisis, but gets a new job as the Grand Master’s zombie executioner instead... Lucy Darnell has the perfect life, unless you count the fact that her son just lit someone on fire, or that her workaholic husband has become a virtual stranger, or that she was marked by the Zombie Queen and will become a zombie unless she can get the help of an insane vampire to stay human and defeat the hungry hordes. For the city, for herself, for love
I have really enjoyed the books in this series. They aren't grouped together but you can find them all under the authors name. Love, action, women who have power of their own but also the support of those around them and an ongoing love of sushi. How can you say no to that?
