About this listen

The action and thrills continue as Jeff, Ollie, and Maria continue the fight to survive free from tyranny.

Several years after the apocalypse slow rolled over the world, chaos still rules the day. Jeff and his small group survived the gangs and slavery groups on the island but had to flee Dauphin Island for Northern Florida. Jeff, the Old Man, might be in his late 50s but is up to the challenges met while leading his group to safety and freedom. Maria and Ollie learn valuable survival skills from Jeff and teach Jeff a thing or two about living.

Now, they must hide and regroup after they sail east in an attempt to find Ollie's family ranch. Danger and lawlessness abound in Northern Florida and Jeff quickly learns anyone of his friends could be a traitor.

Narrators voice.

Can barely stand to listen to narrator. Sounds like he is sick or has a mouth full of “something”. Very stuffy and harsh he repeats many lines. And you can hear him clearing his throat and swallowing. People do that. But don’t do it on the mic man. Also. He sounds like he is reading a instruction manual most the time. Decent story. Horrible listen.

why, why,why

WHY did they use this narrator. He ruined this book. The first book narrator was leaps and bounds better. The story was just ok, but the narration makes it almost impossible to finish the book.

great continuation to story horrible narration

Story is great but narration is choppy with repeats. poor editing on audible. If you can deal with the narrator it's a good book

Great Continuation, but the Narator...

This is an example of fine writing damaged by inattentive narration. I'd say my money was NOT wasted because the written story can reach past the voice that presents the words. Narrator Wayne Mikel portrays the main character as if he's a-hundred-and-eighteen years old. This contrasts other characters he portrays with adequate gender, smoothness and punctuation. So I'm left regretting the impression of a 58 year old character that seems to ancient to draw another breath.

Good story

I like the story but did not like the new narrator. BC Archer did a better job overall, He was a much better Jeff Mann.

Good continuation but bad narration

Editing of audio was not good. The reading was very monotone. It was more difficult to get involved.

The first book was so good!

I enjoyed the first so much. There was good character development and the story was interesting. This volume was lack luster to say the least. The narrator was just awful compared to the first book in the series. The addition and removel of characters made the book confusing and hard to follow. If I had known, I wouldn't have wasted the credits.
