Publisher's summary

Before Beauty and the Beast, there were Alessandra and Adonis....

In a modern world ruled by territorial Greek gods, the human race has been oppressed, exploited, and now nearly destroyed by the constant infighting of gods.

However, a human girl with the power of a goddess is coming of age. Alessandra is the Oracle of Delphi - the last prophesized - and bears the mark of the double omega. Soon after she turns 18, Alessandra is told her destiny: to step between the warring gods and the human race and save her world from certain ruin.

For the gods her appearance marks the beginning of the end - their end. They and the Triumvirate - leaders of the human elite - who serve them will stop at nothing to preserve their power.

Alessandra emerges from the forest where she spent her life hidden from gods and men and immediately plummets into a race against time, gods, and herself to discover who and what she is in a world where everyone she meets has a hidden agenda, and those pulling the strings remain in the shadows.

Before she can determine exactly what kind of savior her world needs, she must first master her power by completing three trials devised by the Triumvirate to enslave her.

One lone girl stands between warring gods and the people she's destined to protect, but it's the battle to understand who she is that she must win first.

Great Story

Would you listen to Omega again? Why?

I really enjoyed this book. The story line is amazing. Lizzy Ford is an amazing author and I just love her books. This the first time I have ever listened to one of her books and I really enjoyed it. The narrator was really good. There were times her accent came through but it was not enough to make me stop listening.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Omega?

When Alessandra finds out that she more important than she could have ever imagined.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but unfortunately I was not able to listen in one sitting.

Not a shifter romance

If you're like me and saw "Omega" and thought this would be a shifter romance, it is not.
With that said its a YA based around modern day greek mythology, gods and titans.
Definitely pleasantly surprised

You are going to love the reading of this book.

What made the experience of listening to Omega the most enjoyable?

I had read this book a while ago. and listing to it in the car, at work, at home. was awesome I'm falling in love with audio books. as you can work and feel like your reading at the same time. .

Any additional comments?

WOW Ok so The audible version is killer. The reading of this books is amazing really did enjoy it I just wanted to take a min and thank Shiromi Arserio for an amazing job with this reading. And of course Lizzy for another amazing book.

You need to read the Omega miniseries before starting this book so you will have a better understanding of the characters. There are 6 novellas in the miniseries so far Alessandra, Mismatch, Phoibe, Lantos, Theodocia, and Niko(Hate him!! Just saying)..

Alessandra is the Oracle of Delphi. She goes back and forth from the humans to the gods. She has lead a very lonely life. Her world falls apart and she doesn’t know who she can trust.
Niko is a a$$hat and Lantos I don’t really like either.
This book really has a lot packed in it. But you do need to read all the Novellas as they will help you with understand the characters more.

Brillant start to this series-

This story starts out in quiet forest tucked away from view. I didn't realize (until the end of this novel) how much I would miss that location and the quiet peace of that forest. It really was a great place to enter this story. This novel has so many layers. Gods, trails, humans, statues, ribbons, betrayal and at the center of it, a girl who doesn't know what she is and when she starts to figure it out, doesn't know how to do what she is destined to do. I found it hard to get out of my car when I was listening, it was that gripping. The narration was spot on and done wonderfully.

On to book 2

This book has a great story line with amazingly written characters. So many layers yet to come so I'm looking forward to starting book 2. Narration was great too.

Enjoyable....ish.

This had so so much potential, but it kind of fell flatish! I'm sure I'll be using the "ish" term a lot in this review because while I did enjoy this, it just didn't wow me. I felt a bit "meh" the whole way through.

Plot wise, I felt like I missed something when I first started reading this. I had to check see if there was a prequel or something since we seem to be thrown into the world with no explanation. "In a modern world ruled by territorial Greek gods, the human race has been oppressed, exploited, and now nearly destroyed by the constant infighting of gods." OK, but it isn't ever really explained. Yes, there is a series of prequels so I'd recommend maybe reading them first.

Apart from thee feeling of missing something, the plot was good..ish. There was a lot to like but also a lot that frustrated me no end!! The most frustrating thing was the MC, she was ..... I don't even know what to say about her, maybe silly, naive, didn't use her head, etc! would suffice but she was also kinda kick ass, sort of competent, and frustratingly trusting.

Eg, Alessandra lives in a compound with "silly" nymphs who are only worried about make up and boys, yet so many times she laments the fact that she doesn't have a boyfriend. She trains hard and is really adept at doing challenging things, yet she makes such stupid decisions when she is outside the compound that she felt like a different character. I just wasn't enamoured with her because it felt like two different characters, with the same name, depending on the situation. Going by her training at the start, I really thought we'd have a strong young heroine, instead she made incredibly stupid decisions and was whiny and with a "whoa is me" attitude.

The book is over 11hrs so quiet a long one. I did think about putting it aside about 30% of the way through because of the MC but I persevered and listened to it all, and honestly, I'm kind of glad I did, as I think I would have felt like maybe it got better and I was missing out. I enjoyed parts of it and even with me not liking the MC, it was an OK story but I'm not sure if I'll continue on with the series yet, maybe one day!!

This review probably doesn't make a lot of sense as I'm trying to keep spoilers out of it and if I was to reference any of the parts that annoyed me, there would definitely be spoilers in them, so sorry if it's a bit vague!

Shiromi Arserio did a good job with this. She was clear and concise and told the story really well. I had no problem with her narration.
