About this listen

Perry Q. Pumpinog is a chapter poem about a little, blue-blood monster on his quest to show he's fit to be the crown prince of West Bryding.

King Quincy challenges his eldest to find three objects: a sea horn, a sky stone, and a foreigner’s crown. While the first two aren’t exactly easy, the third makes Perry's two teeth itch as he imagines all the messy situations he might get into trying to take the crown off someone else's head.

His sloppy, rude, and jealous siblings don't help. They all scheme to thwart Perry's success by bribing the family doctor to perform a secret operation to remove Perry’s perfect sense of direction - a mariner’s compass he once swallowed by accident as a kid learning how to row a boat in the castle’s moat.

The next morning, despite the odd pain in his back, Perry packs his backpack and sets off of unaware that his knack for navigation is all gone!

A Story and Storyteller for all the enjoy.

A wonderful story created as an “Epic Poem” which most certainly has all the elements of classic children story.

To quote a reviewer, “This book is beyond lovely, as the sentiment behind it’s publication. The flowing verses are are both hilarious and entertaining as they are crafted.”

As an avid audio book listener, the richness of the narrators’
voice captures the nuances of each character as the adventure unfolds.

Perry Q. Pumpinog may be a good read but it absolutely fabulous story to listen to while sending your imagination on the journey along side Perry Quincy Pumpinog.

There was a time that a storyteller was treasured. A huge thanks to Jim Bergwall, for sharing this long hidden treasure, lovingly written by his wife Linda for their then young daughters.

Perry is a delightful, young hero.

Forced on a sabotaged quest to prove himself, Perry proves resourceful. He is successful yet in different ways than he expects. Jim Bergwall’s narration is flawless and brings out the humor in the verse. I highly recommend this audio quest to kids of all ages.

Completely charming from beginning to end!

Linda Larson Bergwall's novella-length poem is a delightful tale of growing through adventure. Picturesque word choices. Humor and warmth. Jim reads superbly.
