Publisher's summary

Remember! When you were small and saw your friend flaunting a new bicycle at school, your aspiration for a ride was mercilessly turned down propelling a jolt of anger in you. What did you do? You asked your father for a bicycle and he bluntly said no! We all have been through rejections throughout our life from bicycles to brides. May it be personal or professional convincing people is a major challenge we face on a day to day basis. If only we knew how to persuade or convince people. Persuasion is science as much as art and could be learned and practiced. A constant learning process through trial and error could make its practiser master of this scientific art. In general persuasion refers to altering someone's mind; however it could also be in context of changing a person's belief, attitude or behavior.

More of a list of techniques than a book

Very short. Mostly an overview and list of techniques. I'm not complaining, it was only a couple of bucks.

extremely brief and on specific

unfortunately, although the subject matter is very interesting, the author does not include specific examples and does not illustrate the progression and development of a scenario in which of these tactics can be applied. this book is more structured like a list of philosophies.

Interesting

I had no idea about persuasion before. It was initially a bit tricky for me to digest the fact that you can actually "learn" to persuade people. But this book showcases a nice story and I'm "convinced"! The voice is a bit nasal, so I gave 4 star in performance, I would recommend a complete patient hearing.
