Publisher's summary

One bed. Two best friends. Three nights playing pretend.

When I agreed to let Rome be my fake boyfriend on a work trip, I didn’t think acting like a couple would be that complicated.

He’d flash his killer smile at my colleagues.

Impress them with his charm.

While keeping my toxic ex at bay.

But that’s not the reality I’m currently drowning in.

From the moment we arrive at the resort, Rome’s hands are all over me.

His whispered words in my ear more scandalously filthy than sweet.

He’s acting like a lust-drunk fool who’s dying for a taste, and I can’t stop blushing or panicking, because there’s only one bed in our hotel room, and Rome Cavanaugh wouldn’t know how to sleep in anything other than his birthday suit.

A Sweet Slow Burn

Eden hits it out of the park with this slow burn romance. The couple had known each other most of their lives. It’s the taboo relationship of “his best friends younger sister/her older brothers best friend.” And even though they are friends, a weekend away together will change the dynamics of their friendship. There is steam littered throughout as the book builds to the grand finale. 🫠💜

Story was way too drawn out

I dislike when a book does the same scene over & over again just in different settings. I got very tired of listening to Piper drone on about all of her issues. After the first three times enough was enough! Both narrators did a great job although I didn’t care for either of them doing the other one’s voice. You had two great sounding people allow them to just do their job & tell the story.

Seriously HAWT!!!!

HOLY SH*T!!! This book was so freaking hot with sexual tension that I swear it melted my kindle. Rome is seriously hot and all he has ever wanted has been handed to him on a silver platter. Piper has been in love with Rome forever but he is her best friend and she can't lose him, but how can she resist him when they are sleeping together. This story was so great and love the slow burn and the character development. I have read Eden Summers before but, wow, this book was so good. I loved the comedy, heat, love, friendship and drama. I highly recommend this book and love this author!!! Let me talk about the narrators, both of which I hadn't listened to before. Gideon Frost & Samantha Brentmoor really brought the story and characters to life. I will definitely be putting them both on my "need to listen to" list.

kinda creepy

The male lead just came off like a creep and the female lead didn't feel like a real person at all. the conflict between the two seemed unrealistic at best.

🤢

Every character in this book is insufferable. If I’d known there was an age gap where he literally lusted after a 12 year old when he was a legal adult I would have saved my money. She sucks, he sucks, her ex sucks, this book sucks.
