About this listen

The boarding house is full, the town is thriving, and it just keeps getting better.

The Dumont Island Boarding House is located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and is only accessible by car ferry. Most roads on the island are gravel, though the main road that travels down the middle of the island is paved. There are conveniences such as a general store, post office, souvenir shops, café, and a post office on the island, as well as a few cottages spaced along the amazing coastline. The boarding house sits on the far side of the island, with limited resources including electricity supplied only by generator for a brief time during the early evening hours, with gasoline lanterns used at night. Everyone knows each other on the island and they all like to take care of each other as a community of neighbors.

Raylynn has lived on the island for nearly a decade, runs the local café, and is good friends with Mark, though few others know much about her personal life. She tries to forget a past that carries many harsh memories and focuses on the life she has built for herself on Dumont Island. She gives back to the community, is kind to those in need, and tries her best to atone for her sins of the past. When Seth lands on the shores of Dumont Island, though, he tears open some major wounds and has her questioning everything once again.

Seth wakes up in a small room attended by a woman he has never seen before. They tell him his name from a badge that carries his likeness, but he can’t access any memories about his life. Despite what he hopes will be short-term amnesia, he needs to stay busy, and help Raylynn as she delivers meals to those around the island who need them. He finds himself drawn to this sweet, quiet woman, though he senses fear behind her eyes and the distance between them might not ever be able to be overcome.

Can these two find common ground with Seth not remembering his past, and Raylynn trying to forget hers? Can faith, hospitality, and just a bit of patience become the recipe for a love neither of them bargained on?

The Dumont Island Board House series is based upon Romans 12:12-16 (NIV). "Practice Hospitality," is the fourth book in this seven-book series. Download this clean romance book that will make you feel good about yourself and the world around you.
