Publisher's summary

In the much-anticipated debut of a new series by number one best-selling author Jack Mars, when elite Delta Force soldier Luke Stone, 29, joins a secretive government agency, he is dispatched on the mission of a lifetime: a whirlwind race across Europe and the Mid-East to save the President’s daughter before she is beheaded by terrorists.

In Primary Target, we see the forging of one of the world’s toughest - and most lethal - soldiers: Luke Stone. A 29-year-old veteran who has seen enough battle to last a lifetime, Luke is tapped by the Special Response Team, a secretive new FBI agency (led by his mentor Don Morris) to tackle the most high-stake terrorism operations in the world.

Luke, still haunted by his wartime past and newly married to an expecting Becca, is dispatched on a mission to Iraq, with his new partner Ed Newsam, to bring in a rogue American contractor. But what begins as a routine mission mushrooms into something much, much bigger.

When the President’s teenage daughter, kidnapped in Europe, is ransomed by terrorists, Luke may be the only one in the world who can save her before it is too late.

Primary Target is an pause-resisting military thriller, a wild action ride that will leave you listening late into the night. It marks the long-anticipated debut of a riveting new series by number one best-selling author Jack Mars, dubbed “one of the best thriller authors” out there.

Good story. Terrible narration

Good story but the narrator has what must be one of the most irritating voices I have heard. It kept me from fully enjoying the book. I kept hoping that his voice would grow on me but it just did not.

Enjoyed it, good story

Really liked the story but the narration was just short of painful. Sorry Larry Gorman

Target Lacks Imagination

There is absolutely nothing new here. Storyline is an endless series of mini -plots lifted from all the great writers of this genre.
As if this isn't bad enough, the reader put inappropriate dialects over dialogues , excessive testosterone in the wrong places. Made Luke Stone sound like an adolescent teenager wearing big-boy pants. -30-

Awesome first read from this author.

This was a great story. Just came across this author and very happy I did. I'm ordering the next book in the series now!

Good story, but

Well conceived book and story line is well put together. 10 or 15 mins and you’re past the slow part. Narration was the only troubling issue contributed to by some lack of fun the basic program.

Okay, not great

Narrator was difficult to listen to as he does not do voices well. Book was okay but basic. Not a lot of intrigue and some simple resolutions.

Horrible absolutely terrible narration

The narrator of this book is so bad I nearly stopped listening! I put the narrator on a note to endure I never purchase a book narrated by him again.

The book was good, although having sounds in spoken Context instead of descriptive gave it a bit of a kindergartner feel.

Good book.

I liked the overall story. The book is a good length. I think some more time could have been spent on character development for some of the ancillary characters.
I didn't love the narrator but not enough to stop listening. Looking forward to his other books.

Worst reader ever.

Annoying nasal sound that will make you want to scratch your eyes out.
Wish they would get Ray Porter or George Guidall to narrate.
