Publisher's summary
It is a joyful moment for everybody. Bringing home a young, sweet puppy marks the beginning of new and exciting period not only for you but for the puppy also. As much as this novelty will impact your routine in a new and wonderful way, at the same time it presents an adaptation challenge for your new roomie. The first two weeks of your lives together will bring fun, laughter, and tears but may also cause high blood pressure if you don't know what you are doing. This book, based on experience, expert literature, and direct insights from professional dog trainers, will teach you how to spend the first two weeks with your dog and set the perfect stage for the long years ahead of you two. You will learn how to teach your dog to "make" where you want on the very first day you get your puppy to its new home. You will teach your dog its name - a critical thing to do. And then you will progress to classics: "come", "sit", "stay", "heel", "roll over", "bring", and also how to walk your dog without leash.

A longtime contributor to Field and Stream, Bill Heavey knew more than a little about hunting and fishing when he embarked on an ambitious project a few years ago to see how far he could get eating wild. But Heavey knew next to nothing about gardening or foraging, and he lives in northern Virginia, close to Washington, D.C. The rural wilds, this was not. Is it any surprise that his tasty triumphs were equaled by his hilarious misadventures?

We live in a world of seeds. From our morning toast to the cotton in our clothes, they are quite literally the stuff and staff of life, supporting diets, economies, and civilizations around the globe. Just as the search for nutmeg and the humble peppercorn drove the Age of Discovery, so did coffee beans help fuel the Enlightenment and cottonseed help spark the Industrial Revolution. And from the fall of Rome to the Arab Spring, the fate of nations continues to hinge on the seeds of a Middle Eastern grass known as wheat.

He was also the only non-human chosen as one of ESPN's "50 Greatest Athletes of the Century".

Story
Most organizational books on the market profess to have a one-size-fits-all solution to home organization. Common anthems are to: go paperless, get rid of everything that doesn't spark joy, and capsulize your wardrobe. While some find success using these methods, the majority of American women are facing decades of delayed decisions piled high in unmarked boxes and shoved in storage rooms bursting at the seams. Fifteen-minute-a-day organization tips and color coordinated plastic boxes are no match for the memories and clutter contained in those rooms.

What's more, Lightly is a complete philosophy of life. When you're tempted by an impulse purchase, trying to resist a chocolate donut, or struggling to say no to another obligation, all you have to remember is one word - "lightly" - to boost your resolve and make beautiful choices. It doesn't get any easier than that. Lightly is like a recipe book for minimalism, designed so you can dip into it anytime for advice and inspiration.

Appreciate the direct, clear cut instructions.
I like how this book addresses how to train a puppy from the start. There is not a lot of wasted time and drawn out stories but rather direct instruction on positive puppy training techniques.

Good high level overview for new puppies
In one 40 minute listen, this book gave me lots of good information. The potty training piece was a little too brief so I’ll get more information elsewhere on that.

Interesting overview of info but poor recording
I found the information interesting, and I enjoyed the tips and tricks. There is potential to go more in depth with the step-by-step guidance, which would prove to be much more helpful.
The quality of the recording was poor, like the microphone was in the same room as the narrator but not near the narrator's mouth.

decent starter guide
The audio quality and narration was the worst I've ever seen on Audible. But the information presented was consice and in layman's terms.
