Publisher's summary

Luck can only go so far.

Gleam may be fading into the distance, but Vex is far from done with Chance and Bella. At his command, the Shikari set off in hot pursuit of them. The best way to evade their hunters is to blend into the villages that surround the massive Scholar City.

But, as Bella shows Chance more of the new world he’s found himself on, they stumble into forces that not even Vex could have predicted would be at play.

Yamish stands in wait, offering a solution to all of their troubles — a solution that stands at direct opposition to Chance’s boundless optimism. If he’s going to find a way to survive Vex without losing Bella in the process, something is going to have to give.

Luck might not be enough, but Chance has never been good at giving up when he’s meant to.

Book 2 of the next hit Progression Fantasy Cultivation series from Actus, bestselling author of Blackmist & Cleaver's Edge.

Join the adventure of a Karmic Cultivator in a brutal new world who refuses to compromise his values on his quest to grow stronger. Sometimes, luck isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Great continuation

the story was pretty damn good and wrapped up quite nicely. I can't wait for the third book in the series and would recommend this book for a good listen

I am becoming frustrated.

The MC is just doing things out of supposed fairness for his Karma and its driving me insane. I was listening to this on a flight and would have put something else on but at 30000 ft my internet wasn't working. I suffered through it and it got a little better. I am not sure if I will get the next book.

Yet another masterpiece from a great author

I'm not really one for a lot of words so I'll just say that if you liked his other stuff you'll like this as well. Fantastic second entry to great series

Just to much

The MC is to naive and it’s so cringy that I just had to stop and take breaks to even make it to the end I’m sad to say I won’t be picking up the Next one Actus

Inane Descisions and Repitition

What i lovemost of a story is to here a lil peptalk spiel about how they (two characters) should go do something cross a metaphorical sometimes literal bridge then have the exact same conversation again with the same boring logic like FFS get on with it. In addition the MC keeps calling his essence Luck when its was specifically addressed in the first book that it wasnt just luck, that it was kharmic Luck with friendly neighborhood debt collector sprinkled in there. It makes more sense when you realize the author is pumping out more books than a harem fiction author in heat so the quality just aint gonna be there but its decent junk food. For the narration there are some stories that could use this guy but not a story with young adults as the MCs. Everyone sounds like they smoke 12 packs a day and every sentance has a strange lilting tone at the end of it as if its all a grand mystery, it aint
