Publisher's summary

Rush, noun: a surging of emotion.

My life is falling apart.

Fired from my job.

Blacklisted across NYC.

At odds with my mother.

The only thing good I have to hold on to is the memory of my steamy one-night stand.

Only I had no idea who Eli was....

Or that I’d end up working on his movie set.

The spark between us threatens to reignite every time we’re near each other.

But Eli wants more than just hot sex.

He has a daughter and wants a partner in life.

I’m seeking answers about my past and trying to plan my future.

Commitment is the last thing I want.

Yet I’m unable to resist his pull and his passion.

His touch eases the turmoil in my life.

His kiss takes me to another place.

And the more time I spend with him and his daughter, the harder it becomes to break away.

Though when forced to choose between Eli or a chance at a fresh start, I’m not sure I can risk it all for love.

Rush is the fourth and final full-length novel in the Trojan series - a rock star romance series that takes place after the band breaks up. Novels in the series are interconnected stand-alones, each with a happily ever after. Listening to them in order is not crucial, but recommended for the best listener experience.

Loved the romance and humor!

Rush is probably my favorite audiobook from the Trojan series. We do meet Eli and his daughter Crystal in the earlier books but it isn't necessary to read or listen to the first three books first. However, I'll say that you will enjoy the series more as a whole if you start at the beginning. Anyways, I was so excited for Eli to get his happily ever after. Eli is looking for love and after a heavy and intense night of passion he's tickled to stumble upon Pru again after that fate-filled night. Pro on the other hand is not looking for her HEA. She is down on her luck and is just wanting things to start looking up again. Can chance bring these two together or are they too far apart?

Rush is a book that hits on the romance and live while still having humor and fun. I loved that there was just to smidgen of drama and that this story really stayed true to the characters. Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield did a fantastic job on the narration of this audiobook. Pru had this fierce determination that Emma Wilder really picked up on and showcased throughout the story. Greenfield really pulls out the stops and shows all Eli's enotions... even the heart on his sleeve.

Wonderful Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Heartfel

S.M. West pens another fabulous novel set in her “Trojan” series, Trojan, the rock band who broke up in the height of their career and each book in the series features a different member, it was an amicable split and all the members remain in each other’s lives in one capacity or another and make appearances in each other’s books so it would be beneficial to read or listen to the books in order, besides they are all amazing books. I am a huge fan of rock star romance novels and I love the world Ms. West created and the originality of the series and each book the rock star’s life after the band breaks up. This fourth book is Eli’s story, the former rock star is a single Dad and a successful actor, he stars in a series and is filming a movie, one day hoping to be working behind the camera and out of the spotlight. His fame has made it hard to date and find someone to settle down with, the women he meets are more interested in his fame than him as a person. Not having much luck dating, but he had a memorable and steamy one-night stand, but they never exchanged personal info and he did not think he’d ever see her again, but fate has other plans. Pru’s life has gone into a tailspin, betrayed by her business partner who she thought was a friend that cost her job in the business she co-founded with him and topping that off his influential wife has it out for her and is blacklisting in the business world, luckily she gets a job as a foreign language coach to actors filming a movie in NYC, her hometown. She also needed to move out of her apartment and moved into her mother’s penthouse apartment near Central Park, the apartment and location is great but her relationship with her mother is not so great. But she rolls with it and starts applying for new jobs since the coaching one for the film is temporary. She is fluent in six languages but this is her first time coaching, her first day on the job brings her several surprises, not only is it the actors she will work with but that one of them was her one-night stand from a few weeks ago. They agree to knot talk about the past and to keep it professional, but the chemistry between them is electric and they can only deny each other for so long. But the problem is Eli is looking for his forever girl and thinks Pru is it, but Pru is not looking for a long-term relationship or even a commitment. Pru has had so much disappointment in her life in the love department and those who were supposed to love her and be her friends, it left her broken and with issues, one being her own inner demons to deal with. But Eli has patience and will wait, but will she ever see how good a relationship could be or how good she could be in a relationship, deserving and worthy of love. I thought she was great with his daughter Crystal, just wished she could see it. I loved how everything played out in this beautifully plotted romance, the story captivated my attention and grabbed my heartstrings like no other and I was rooting for these two the entire time. I am sad to see this series end, but there could have been a better way to end it and it was great to catch up with characters from the earlier books too. S.M. West, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, S.M. West chose the perfect cast to bring her characters and their story to life. Emmer Wilder and Lance Greenfield are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They have a complete understanding of the characters they portray, give each a voice that fits that character’s person to a tee and are believable in every role they play, sounding just as I pictured the characters to sound. You could hear how much heart these two put into their performance as they captured all the characters’ emotions. Emma Wilder nailed it as Pru, Lance Greenfield, did the same for Eli, both were great playing the roles of the secondary characters as well. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Beautiful ending to this amazing Seires!

This is the fourth and final novel in the Trojan Series. This is a series of interconnected standalone stories. It is better to listen to this Series in order. Prudence (Pru) and Eli's story is beautifully written, emotional, sexy, funny, and heartwarming. Eli is a single Dad, handsome, supportive, and caring. His daughter Crystal is so cute!! Pru is beautiful, guarded, and strong. Her Mom is controlling, and demanding. Eli and Pru's push and pull relationship is filled with ups and downs, and a sizzling chemistry. They are perfect together. The storyline is sweet, and heartwarming. The supporting characters are amazing. Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield did a fantastic job with the narration. This is a beautiful ending to an amazing series. I enjoyed it. I highly recommend this series!

A really enjoyable story

Another great Trojan story. I really enjoyed this book. The storyline is sweet. The male narrator Lance Greenfield did a fantastic job. The female narrator Emma Wilder voices irritated me but not enough to make me stop listening. Yes I would recommend this book if you like sweet romance books. I received an ARC for my honest review.

“I see you. You don’t ever have to hide from me.”

“She feels like mine. I want her to be mine and yet I don’t want to scare her off.”

Rush is the final book in the Trojan series and it’s finally Eli’s turn. Eli is ready to settle down and make a life with his daughter and that special someone. He first meets Pru when they have a one-night stand and he can’t get her out of his mind. When they cross paths again, he’s determined to explore their connection, but he has to convince Pru to give them a chance.

“I see you. You don’t ever have to hide from me.”

Pru can’t stop thinking about her night with Eli either, but she she has sworn off marriage and family because everyone she loves eventually lets her down and leaves her. She has to confront her past and make peace with it before she can move toward her future. Eli recognizes this and his patience and love towards Pru is so beautifully emotional. He seems to know just what she needs. Basically, Eli was such a sweetheart and I absolutely adored him. Pru and Eli were perfection!

Lance Greenfield narration of Eli was perfection. He made me feel Eli's every emotion. Emma Wilder was also great as Pru. Both did a tremendous job of narrating the story so that I was completely immersed in Eli and Pru's journey.

As always, S.M. West creates an engaging, emotional, and passionate love story full of humor and angst. She’s not afraid to delve into complicated issues and her characters are so full of life. I am always completed immersed in her stories and they make me feel everything. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to the guys of Trojan, but I’m hopeful that we might see them again someday.

Final book!

This book was a great finish to the series. It was a lot more frustrating than book 2! Eli is a single dad ready to find his forever person. Pru has some pretty big walls up based on people in her life. I loved Eli's daughter and she really bonded with Pru which helped Pru to realize she could do the forever relationship with Eli. The push and pull between Eli and Pru was crazy, but they persevered and got their HEA!

Music Trivia Keeps Things Fun

Another wonderful book for this series! 🎶🤩🎶

4.5 stars - Pru and Eli have an instant connection and a salacious first encounter. It was unforgettable for both of them with no information exchanged so everything else is left to fate. And fate is a nasty being who takes a very tough road for Pru to get in Eli's path again.

There's humor, some one-upmanship, drama, sizzle, and a bit of a puzzle to sort out. I like the chemistry, the push and pull as life throws things in their way. I was proud of Pru for writing off Ross and his wife after what happened there. I was also happy to see things with Priscilla go in a positive direction after so much turmoil.

If you enjoyed earlier works in the series, you might remember that Eli has a daughter, Crystal. She is taken with Pru just as quickly as Eli is and it is sweet and fun to see that relationship build.

You don't need to read/listen to the prior books in the series to enjoy this book, but it will enhance the experience as there are character crossovers and references to the past. There is also a reference to the characters in the fifth book of the NY Knights series but it's brief.

I liked the narration by Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield. I look forward to hearing both narrators in future books.

Eli gets his woman…or does he?

I enjoyed this one. In here we have Eli looking for love and a life partner. Then we have Prudence who is all about a one night stand but has no desire for a relationship. These two have fun but then it all falls apart. There is a lot of soul searching needed to see if they can rekindle what they had.

I really like Eli and his daughter. Pru was a struggle for me at times due to her actions. I really loved getting to see all the guys, their ladies and how they are doing.

What I enjoy about this rock band series is that it is set AFTER the band reached stardom then broke up. That makes this one different. I did listen to this on audio. The narration is well done and both added to their characters.

Wonderful, Emotional Read

This series is beyond amazing. I have listened to all of them and each one has been so good. The whole crew make appearances throughout. You cant help but fall in love with these rockers and the women that claim their hearts. This book gave me all the feels. It has so much depth and heart. Eli and Pru are total opposites but complete each other. Pru has to overcome some hard truths in order to accept the love Eli has for her. The chemistry is off the charts hot between these two. From the one night stand that started their story to the very end. I love how Eli's daughter Crystal was so much a part of what was growing between them. Such a fantastic and realistic story. This whole series is a 5+ star read/listen. All the narrators were exceptional at bringing the characters to life.

Trojan #4

Rush (Trojan #4) is the story of Prudence (Pru) and Eli, the fourth member of Trojan. They meet at a club and have a one night stand, or so they think. Because they run into each other not much later. While Pru is afraid to commit herself and doesn’t want to have any children, she really warms up to Eli’s daughter.

I loved this story, and loved the epilogue! Too bad it’s the last of the Trojan series.

Narrators Emma Wilder and Lance Greenfield did a really good job!
