Publisher's summary

It isn't Sage Parker's fault that she mistakes former Navy SEAL Joel Watts as the stalker who has been sending her disturbing letters - he shows up every time she turns around. Too bad her father doesn't tell her he sent Joel to protect her.

When the stalker tracks Sage from LA to her new job in Colorado, she's glad to have Joel on her side. She didn't plan on falling in love with him though - now if he would see her as more than just a client. Joel takes his job as head of resort security seriously, but Sage is his number one priority, and the one woman he can't get out of his mind. He isn't sure if he believes in her precognition, or some of her other hokey beliefs, but he soon finds he can't live without her. He just has to catch the stalker before he or Sage end up dead.

Sigh, SEAL bodyguard <3

This is such a sweet romance. It starts of as a bit of a rewind to see events leading up to Sage coming to the hotel. I loved getting this beginning for her and Joel. It is also interesting to see her take on events at the reading of the will.

All the girls are so different and their stories are just as contrasting. This is a bodyguard falling in love with his charge trope. I am always a fan of that theme. What girl can resist a big strong protective SEAL? Not this one!

Sage is all mother earth, but she doesn't try to preach or convert. I love her whole vibe, I think she is my favorite of the sisters. Se also has premonitions, they are key to her story but done with a subtle touch. I love that she uses daily horoscopes as a cover.

Joel is kind of awesome! I love the connection he has with Sage and their whole dynamic. He has a few issues, but once he gets over them he is all about his lady. They have such a sweet relationship. Some of my favorite scenes are the self defense classes.

This is a romance but it is more sweet, closed bedroom door. They do have sex but you don't get any details. It isn't quite squeaky clean because they kiss plenty and do sleep together. Sometimes I like a warm and fuzzy read instead of a hot and heavy.

The narrative is split between the two leads. This really helps put you into their heads and get a fuller story. I prefer this for my romances because I love knowing both sides of the story.

The stalker plot was a little slow, it really took awhile to get the action moving in that direction. There are some predictable elements, but a couple surprises as well. For a stalker, he was pretty passive, until the end. Warning, it you are an animal lover, do not get attached to the cat!!! It was cliche and not a happy moment for me, I feel there were other ways to express he was escalating.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Valerie Gilbert, who is one of my favorites. I love her smooth tones and the energy she puts into the read. She is always a joy to listen to and this was another happy journey. Her pace is swift enough to keep the story moving in slower moments. She is a compliment to the the story and well suited to the whole series.

I am excited to see what else will happen in the series. We had loads of hints about the other sister's romances in this book. So many connections were being made on this book. I love that all the girls books are out in audio already. All the better to gobble them up in a marathon listen!

In a side note, I think it would be awesome to have a side series of Joel's SEAL buddies finding love. They were a riot and such fun to read!

Sealed or swooned

What made the experience of listening to SEALed with Love the most enjoyable?

I think the narrator did a great job keeping the story moving, even when you were frustrated with the lead.

What other book might you compare SEALed with Love to and why?

Currently there are a lot of books out there that focus on romance with men who serve their country, the saving grace for this book was the prior book a established our connection

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listen to all but the last half hour of it in one sitting, Sage endded up frustrating me.

Any additional comments?

the series does need to be read in order for better understanding. we follow a group of sisters on their journey of opening a new hotel after their father passes and they are forced together. in book two we follow Sage's journey through love. I wish she was a stronger character. I hated that she swooned than got nauseous and had all these panic attacks over every single thing. however the book was entertaining.

Entertaining

Heather Tullis is a relatively new author to me and why that is the case, I have no idea. I found this book to be well written and entertaining and it kept me invested from the first to the last chapter.

I have listened to narrator Valerie Gilbert before and as with previous books she has narrated, I found this one to be a pleasure to listen too. She uses different voices to distinguish between the characters which makes listening easy and enjoyable.

This instalment is Sage Parker and Joel Watts’s story and was one I found captivating. Joel was tasked by her late father to watch over and protect her from a stalker who is fixated on her.

I fell hard and fast for Joe, he isn’t the tough Seal that he makes out to be. Under the surface is a man who has not known love in his life, except for his seal brothers in arms. Until he meets Sage, he has no idea of just how lonely and alone he has become. My heart broke for him even whilst it swooned; he is that kind of man.

There is heat, spice, love, drama, danger and suspense as Joel tries to protect Sage and find out the identity of her stalker.

Former SEAL and non-valiance girl romance

This is a story of a girl, Sage, who hates violence. All her life she tries to keep inner peace, follows mostly vegetarian lifestyle and works in spa as reflexologist. Once she gets a stalker, her father gets her a bodyguard, who is a former SEAL, Joel. Even though Joel a lot of violence in his life and she is absolutely against violence, they instantly get chemistry between each other, but too afraid to act on it.

After her father death, she has to move across the country to work on a new hotel according to his will. Unfortunately, her stocker moves there as well and continue harassing her. Sage and Joel has to work together to find a stalker and be free so they can have their happy ending.

The narration was good and each character was distinctive. Overall, a good listen.
