Publisher's summary

A SEAL's promise is not only something to live for, it is something to die for. Special Operator T.J. Talbot, raised in a string of foster homes and nearly tossed from the Brotherhood, is forced to make a deathbed promise to care for his best friend's wife and baby. At home, Shannon Moore wants nothing to do with the community or anything that reminds her of her fallen SEAL husband, until fate steps in to show her she is still connected, and needs the love of this flawed warrior who shares her grief.

The Best so far!

Would you listen to SEAL's Promise again? Why?

Yes! There was something about this story that tugged not only at my heart strings, but had me intrigued via the 'connection' between TJ and Shannon. I have a feeling that it was written that way on purpose

What about J.D. Hart’s performance did you like?

J.D. Hart's performance is perfection when he reads Ms. Hamilton's novels. There is something about the rhythmic flow and cadence of his voice that makes the words come to life.

Any additional comments?

My title seems to be a little different than the others that I've given these audio books. This one really stood out for me when I listened to it in the car on my way to and from work. The story grabbed me and J.D. Hart drug me into the story and kept me enthralled the entire time.

Brotherhood for life

If you could sum up SEAL's Promise in three words, what would they be?

Classy, Hopeful, Seductive

What other book might you compare SEAL's Promise to and why?

The strong male characters remind me of Robyn Carr's Virgin River characters.

What does J.D. Hart bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

J.D. Hart makes the characters seem so real. The inflections in his voice and the different accents and voices he creates make each character seem like they are talking to you directly. He really adds personality to each of the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could have listened to this book all in one sitting if I had the time. I couldn't wait until I could pick it back up and start listening again each time I had to take a break.

Any additional comments?

Great job Sharon on creating characters that I continue to fall into love with.

Another heartwarming addition to this series.....

I received a copy for an honest review.

I have spent many hours listening & enjoying audio books from this author and am never disappointed. I love this series, getting to know each of the SEAL’s and the ladies they fall for. Ms Hamilton does her research and brings the life of an elite soldier to life. She honors their service while keeping them ‘real. No one is perfect and her SEAL’s all have real life problems to own , they’re human, they make mistakes but they work hard to be the best they can be both at home and abroad.
This is TJ Talbot’s story. A man with a lot of baggage and a deep need to protect those he considers family. Losing his best friend and making a promise to that friend to care for his wife and unborn child nearly destroys him but while nothing will replace his friend he finds new purpose in keeping that oath. He & Shannon didn’t get off to a good start and she’s not sure what to make of TJ when he shows up with a play house for her unborn baby girl. This won’t be an easy relationship to forge and they’ll have many difficulties to work through but it’s always worth the effort for the ones you love. Follow TJ as he learns to love, maybe for the first time in his life. Watch as Shannon not only over comes the grief of losing her husband, blooms with the child they conceived and a new love with the best friend she never really liked to begin with. You’ll probably want the tissues close by for this one.
JD Hart, as always, did a great job!

Warriors sacrifices

The book addresses the dedication of the Warriors who are protecting us. I recognize the sexual part of book, but that to me, is not as important as getting audiences 2 recognize the sacrifices that are made for us.

Just a bit too much with the terrorists on US soil trying to kill people in a hospital/kitchen.

The Promise to Care

This is my first audiobook review so I sure hope I do it justice. I had already reviewed this book back in March. I found myself enjoying the book all over again. Reading and listening are totally different for the senses.

This book is narrated by J.D. Hart. I started listening and found his smooth, clear voice makes the book even better. You can hear the emotions and the inflections as he is reading this book. I found that it actually enhanced the story and made me want to add the audio files for more of my books.

As for the story itself, so good and emotional. The main character promises his dying best friend that he will watch over his family. This ends up confusing Shannon. T.j. says he loves her. Is it just because of this promise? Is it actually for her?

They have a lot to work out and it takes time. Time he may not have. Shannon get nervous and runs away for a bit. She agrees with T.J. that she needs to give it a fair chance before she just gives up like that.

So many surprises with this book! I do not want to give it all away. Just will tell you if you already love military romances, or this series - it is well worth it. There is nothing like having the sound of a great voice read you a sexy book! Warning: Due to language I recommend for readers over 18+ only. I give this audiobook version a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Terrific Series

Sharon Hamilton has done an outstanding job with this novel. She isn't afraid to touch on the topics that are a very real that in our society today for those who serve and protect us. The hot seals and their strong women don't fall short either! I love that Sharon donates a prion of the proceeds from this series to The Wounded Warrior project.

Mesmerizing!

What made the experience of listening to SEAL's Promise the most enjoyable?

I was totally mesmerized by TJ and Shannon's inspirational story of love, loss and second chances and I was very impressed by TJ's dedication to his best friend and all the other members of his SEAL team. All of my emotions were engaged throughout this powerful story of selflessness and personal growth. I absolutely loved it!

What other book might you compare SEAL's Promise to and why?

I read a military romance collection named "Heroes in Uniform" that is full of stories about the special relationships that are formed between men who fight side by side on the battlefield and are dedicated to each other in a way that is equally selfless and inspirational. It's one of the reasons why I'm such a big fan of military romance and authors like Cristin Harber, Lynn Raye Harris and, of course, Sharon Hamilton.

What about J.D. Hart’s performance did you like?

What struck me most was J.D.'s phenomenal ability to bring the characters alive in a way that transforms a book into a technicolor movie experience in my mind. He takes great care to act out all of the parts with different accents and inflections that makes the story as realistic as possible and that really heightens the experience for me. He's so good he makes me forget that I'm listening to one man portraying many different characters and that's what I call talent! I'm a huge fan of audiobooks and J.D. has quickly become one of my very favorite narrators.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes! I had many emotional reactions to TJ and Shannon's relationship but the medical emergency that accompanies the birth of Shannon's baby made my eyes well with tears. I really love a story that engages my emotions and makes me care about the characters as though they were members of my immediate family. The authors that bring out those emotions in me are the ones that are on my must-buy list, especially Sharon Hamilton.

Any additional comments?

Audiobooks have quickly become one of my very favorite forms of entertainment and I especially enjoy listening to them while traveling, cleaning and gardening.
