Publisher's summary

Serve your purpose. It’s the code by which Elijah McMillan lives and breathes. There is no alternative. He was born to service other men, and he does so with pride.

At least until his irresistible brainiac of a counselor Silas Rutledge comes along and tells him he can’t.

That it’s wrong.

That he’s “worth more.”

As if.

Only the more Silas talks, the more Elijah starts to think that it might be true - that he’s someone of value instead of a toy made for better men.

That maybe he can be saved.

Elijah McMillan doesn’t want to be fixed, but his case is one Silas Rutledge refuses to give up. With his sharp mind, quick wit, and stunning good looks, he has the potential to do anything.

If only he’d let Silas help.

For every step forward, Elijah bounds three paces back, and one of these days when he jumps, Silas is sure he’ll come tumbling into his arms. All he can do is hope that when it happens, he’ll have the strength to turn him down.

He can’t fall for his patient.

Not now. Not ever.

No matter how badly he wants to.

Sweet love story with serious backstory...

Save Me is the second book in the Rutledge Brothers series by Piper Scott. This book is the story of an omega, Elijah, rescued from a sex trafficking ring who is trying to figure out what to do next. He is a bit jaded and still a bit brainwashed into thinking he is only meant for one purpose. But the sexy Alpha councilor, Silas Rutledge, is going to show him he is worth so much more.

This story is a quick listen but filled with a sweet love story that I really enjoyed. I wanted to know more about the omegas from the White Lotus and I am happy some of these omegas are getting their own HEA.

This story is narrated by Dennis Adam's who delivers smooth and entertaining voicework that fits the story well.

You can't go wrong with Piper Scott. She delivers again and again.

I've listened to all of the books she has released in this world, and to say I'm a fan is an understatement. I love it when stories are set in the same
world but not the same series. It makes me feel connected from the start. That being said, you absolutely don't have to be familiar with any of the other books to understand and enjoy this one. It stands as a standalone.

Great chemistry between the two mains, and I loved them together. Well, mostly. I have to suspend a bit of reality and blur my profession's code of ethics, but it's fiction and was well done, so only a small mark from me.

Narration is on point as well. While I always want more, this is the perfect amount to take a break away on or recover from a busy day.

Waiting

I really respect Silas who isn't willing to rush things. He wants Elijah to build his own path through life. This story is really about recovery and learning to care about yourself.
I listened to the audio version and was very enjoyable.

Excellent

Given this was more of a novella, there wasn't a ton of time for character development, but I loved the story between Silas and Elijah. It was sweet and loving from the start and I loved that Silas called it quits before anything started. I also loved how it ended, both of them vulnerable, but Silas being in a position of knowing Elijah was ready.

~ 3.5 STARS ~

I liked Silas and though I did like Elijah as well there was just something that bothered me about him. I understand Elijah had his reasons not to trust people, but I sort of felt like he was manipulative a bit at the beginning. Silas felt like he actually liked and cared for Elijah, but most of the story I didn't feel like Elijah really cared for Silas. Towards the end though I did start to believe Elijah did care and that the two could make it.

Overall, I did like this story. It would have been nice if it was a bit longer.

Dennis Adams did a wonderful job. Each character had their own voice.

Endearing novella

Elijah and Silas met when Elijah was brought in after a brothel had been raided. Elijah is very damaged by other opinions of omegas and it has left him very insecure. This novella is their story and it is endearing. The narrator is new to me but I love his voice.

A Good Sequel

This is the second book in The Rutledge Brothers Series. I would read/listen to the first book before this one. A great book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters interesting. The characters were developed and thought out. Elijah is an Omega and Silas is an Alpha are the MC’s of this book. The narration was good and I can recommend this book as a good read/listen. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Don't save this one for later.....listen to it!

Silas and Elijah. This is book 2 in the series. A slow burn romance. Piper Scott crafts a story that was angsty and I couldn't stop listening. The characters are well developed and the story well written. The narration really brings the characters to life.

Wonderful and Sweet

“Save Me” is a short novella and the second book in The Rutledge Brothers series, and one of my favorites in the series. It was previously published in 2017 and recently received an update. This audiobook is of the updated version, which I really liked. Even if you’ve read the previous version of “Save Me” I highly suggest grabbing this audiobook. The story will feel fresh and new, but the characters are still the same characters who we’ve grown to love.

Save Me focuses on Elijah, one of the rescued omegas from The White Lotus, an illegal brothel. Elijah is angry at the world and holds a very low opinion of himself and omegas in general. It takes working with Silas, an alpha counselor, to finally break through his defenses and help him on the path towards healing. However, Silas faces a moral dilemma when he and Elijah start falling in love. As a counselor, Silas knows he shouldn’t fall in love with a patient, but his heart has other ideas. There’s angst and heartache in this novella, but there’s an underlying feeling of hope as Elijah learns to respect himself and build his self-confidence. The romance is tender and sweet, and even though it’s a slow burn, there’s still some really hot sex.

Dennis Adams narrates the audiobook and does a great job with bringing the story to life. His voice is smooth and easy to listen to. He kept his character voices consistent and distinct, which made it easy to follow along in the story. I enjoyed this book so much more as an audiobook thanks to Dennis Adams’ performance.

I recommend this book, especially since it introduces one of the main characters from the first book in His Command series, Obey.
