Could have been better

I am finding that this is not my genre. This story was a lot going on in a small amount t of time. Pretty much goes from 0 (no love between them) to 60 (getting married) like a race car. I feel like it could have been developed a lot more.

I received a free copy of this book, and this review reflects my honest and unbiased opinion.

She almost made a fatal mistake

A lovers tiff sees a fiance going off to war, giving an excuse to relinquish the engagement.
However, letters back and forth gives each person a greater insight into the others personality.
Then, one of the trio that had gone off, is listed as dead. The correspondence from the others had stopped also. The worst is thought.
I won't go further, but there's still a lot of drama to be had, until the final outcome.

Great narration in Regency short story.

Season of Joy by Gayle Buck is a Christmastime short story set in Regency England. After Lord Robert discovers his betrothed (Elizabeth) in the arms of her childhood friend before he heads off to war, Robert refuses to believe her protestations of innocence and immediately goes off to war himself. He eventually regrets his actions toward Elizabeth after being injured - and saved - by the same friend, who finally convinces Robert that nothing untoward happened between him and Elizabeth. After healing his broken body and bruised heart, Robert returns to Elizabeth not knowing whether she still considers herself engaged to him after his sudden and abrupt departure over a year ago. Lucky for him miracles happen at Christmas.

I listened to the Audible version of this story narrated by Julia Eve, who did a great job. The audiobook runs a mere 2 hours and I really wish it had more “meat” to it. However, the narration was very enjoyable as Julia bought the characters to life, using a variety of distinct voices.

Fun, quick read

This was pretty good for being a shorter story. It kept my interest and ended with a happy ever after. The narrator did a great job too.

Sweet regency moment

A short and sweet book! I’m not typically a fan of books where if a person bothered to listen to a single sentence it would solve everything... but in this case it was resolved so beautifully and did not on endlessly! While it says it is a Christmas book it would be wonderful any time of year!

Great book

I was given a copy of this audio book for an honest review. I enjoyed listening to this sweet, clean, historical romance. The characters were well written & kept me interested throughout the entire story. I wanted to punch Lord Roberts in the beginning but he eventually grew on me. Theresa was a sweet, spirited lady and Lord Roberts soon found she was a force to be reckoned with lol. I encourage you to listen to this book. The narrator, Julia Eve, was fantastic!!

Happy Ever After

This is a short story about how Lord Robert and Theresa Huntington eventually allow themselves to acknowledge their love for each other.
It is a clean and nicely written story written over the Christmas Season.
I found Lord Robert to be quite a jealous type and this attitude almost cost him his betrothed.
Theresa on the other hand should have insisted on having her say in explanation of what was causing a problem for Robert but it all ends well - thank goodness.
I enjoyed Julia Eve's reading and was happy to listen to it.
I received a promotional copy of the audiobook and my voluntary and unbiased review is above.

Traditional Regency

Fun going back to the more traditional Regency. Misunderstandings and loss help to round out the story. Really enjoyed the narrator.
