Amazing story!

Really interesting concept and story. Can't wait for the next book (which is about to be started haha) and the performer did a great job!

An modern fantasy focused on angels in human form

This was a fun series starter. New author and narrator to me.
Wyatt is a fire fighter who struggles constantly with hallucinations, disembodied voices, haunting visions and nightmares. Everything starts to unfold when his therapist gives him the task of answering the disembodied voice for the first time in his life.

This leads Wyatt to meet Gabriel who has some devastating information for him, but it also is the cure to his problems. Altering his reality forever and giving him a new focus for his calling to save others.

I think the characters are written really well and are filled with lots of attitude and comedy when the scenes call for it. The ensemble cast of characters spreadsheet out the story some giving a broader perspective than just railroading towards the antagonist. Setting up the world of the story and filling it with characters that might draw you in further. Some may prefer va more direct story path but I enjoyed it.

The narration is very engaging. There are several characters and most have different accents or backgrounds that they have performed well, I could easily tell characters apart without having to wait for the text to tell me. They do well delivering on the comedic timing and attitude for character lines.
My favorites are Valerie and Tae.

My only narration criticism is the first chapters did start of a little flat but I found that after a few chapters in they had brought more energy into the narration.

I did receive a copy of this audiobook for my honest review.

Entertaining Story! Lackluster Narration

If you're looking for a memorable cast of characters to follow on haphazard disorganized personal journeys relating to family drama---this is your cup of tea, sis.
This has no central plot nor any clear protagonist or antagonist to follow. This is like watching a reality TV show for the fun of getting to know the cast, and what they're up to. So enjoy it for what it is. The obstacles the cast face are creative and entertaining--which is what kept me moving through the book.

However, the narration is absolutely awful. At one point, the narrator reads a sex scene with the same objectively distant tone she used to describe a hospital room. So much for bringing the prose to life, I guess. Also the accents are inconsistent. Lucifer's British varies. Gabriel sounds anywhere between 5yrs old and 20 depending on the scene, and the other angels have 'urban' accents which makes them indistinguishable from each other. Wyatt was the only voice that 'fit' the character, to me. Do yourself a solid and just purchase the Kindle edition and read it yourself.

Satan's Speech

OMG! I loved this book so much. And the narrator's male adaptationswere incredible. In one of the scenes, it ended pretty gory but in a good way, but Satan's character gives a makeshift speech to a roadside "preacher" I swear, eveeyone with ears and a voice for eryain injustices needs to hear that. I enjoyed the limitations put on the celestial characters by their human forms. Well done...

Great story and character voices

Very interesting story - I love the take on the angels and their relationships!

The narrator did a wonderful job of shifting between voices and keeping the dialogue and cadences authentic and real

Reads like a Supernatural episode: 2.5 Stars

It reads like a supernatural episode truth be told. Even though I couldn’t really completely vibe with it the story is an interesting one. As someone who finds fantasy a hit or miss but is willing to give almost anything a try, I’m glad I at least gave this a try.
