Publisher's summary

Ali

I’m now the Empress of Vanaheim and leader of all Elves. It’s a lonely job, but the important thing is that the Night Elves are finally safe. At least until I learn of the invading draugr horde. I need Galin's help, and I’m desperate to see him again, but the sorcerer has plans of his own. And when he tries to rewrite our fate, I may lose everything - including him.

Galin

After I fell into the Well of Wyrd, the shades dragged my shattered body to Hel. Hela may have breathed life back into me, but I’ve found myself trapped. Oddly enough, when Hela closes the gates to Hel, I see opportunity to escape. A chance to rewrite my fate, to find glory again. But as I spend time with Ali my icy resolve starts to crack. I want to choose her, but it could mean being stuck in Hel for good.

For readers of Kelly St. Claire, Leia Stone, Linsey Hall, and Jaymin Eve.

Perfect ending

This book was a terrific ending to a great series!! I laughed, I teared up, I got angry. Then the ending ending he felt like wrapped everything up in a way that was realistic and yet perfect for the characters and for us the readers. I definitely will be reading more from this author and recommend this series.

Easy Read

Book 3 was a nice read, but I still felt like it was missing something. I just can't put my finger on it. The whole series as a whole is an easy read with action and a bit of spice.

narration - good

From Elves to Ragnarok to the old Gods to Rattatuskar, magic, true love, 80's/90's references and Fantasy Adventure, this series was awesome!

Unsatysfying ending

Shadow Emperess is final and thrid book of the night elves trilogy.

So far I was ok to be on this action packed journey with Alley and Gavin but this final book was disapointing to me - I’m sad to say this because I was looking forward to know how this end.

Well, I did found out even if I started really to dislike Alley in this book and feel really sorry for Gavin. I did not like the events, relationship or character development in this book at all.

First of all: book starts again with a time gap and Alley and Gavin are AGAIN unshure of others feeling. So we go again same plot through than in the first AND second book that they get in the same page. Fustrating.

Also in this book the sacrifices Gavin makes because of Alley starts to feel too much. I don’t understand why while Alley behaves as she does. 🤯

Narration was ok, again would have liked male voice doing Gavin’s part.

Conflicted

First, the narration was awesome, so my rating has nothing to do with the performance.

So *insert tired sigh* here we go.
As with all the other books in this series, I LOVED the action and adventure, as well as how Allie and Galan had to depend on one another from quest to quest.

What I DID NOT LIKE was how Allie waffled back and forth through the whole damn book. She made a decision about the whole 'mate bond' thing then she waffled so much I was tempted to get the butter and syrup out. In addition, she had the nerve to be mad at Galan for HER decisions. It was freaking TIRING.

Allie also jumped to conclusions A LOT. I would have thought she'd learned better by this book, but obviously not. The whole 'I love dysfunctional blaming and lying' thing just did not work for me.

If not for Allie having learned nothing about how relationships work, how to tell the damn truth about what she wants and how she feels, this book would have been a solid 4-stars. But to give a rating that high, I have to at least like the main characters. And at this point, I feel sorry for Galan and I'm giving Allie the side-eye.

Twenty-five (25) minutes left in the book and I can't WAIT for it to be over. Ugh!
