More Adult Superheroics

A follow-up to the original SIMON, this installment has the titular everyman escaping his captors but still in pursuit from the Green Hood. We spend more time with supporting characters like Vasia and Author this time, the Green Hood’s identity is revealed, and the book ends on a cliffhanger setting up the next volume. Overall, the second book continues the cheeky, post-modern tone of its predecessor, and the writing feels tighter and more focused this time. For American ears, again, the audiobook narrator does take some getting used to.

Good story and performance

This is the first book of the series that I have listened to. I do not feel like I have missed any backstory from the previous book. The story plays out in an interesting manner that is both odd and fun. The performance was hard to follow at first until I became acclimated to the heavy accent and tremulous voice.

Right back too it!

In this thrilling follow up, Simon Chronicles, we find our hero is still on the run from the Green Hood while managing to escape his captors. We delve deeper into the lives of supporting characters. No spoliers here but we finally learn the identity of the Green Hood. Obvisiously the conclusion is yet another cliffhanger setting us up for another installment soon. The book concludes with a cliffhanger that perfectly sets up the next volume. I have say that I have thoroughly enjoyed reading/listening to these two books. The are extreme well written. You can tell the author took his time!

Great sequel!

I thorough enjoyed Simon: Superhero in Training by Lucas W. Mayberry. This second book in the series combines modern sci-fi elements with traditional legends. There are more revelations and backstory to explain what’s going on with Simon. The training scenes were a bit long winded for my tastes, but I’m not interested in martial arts. Still a lot of things hanging so I hope to see the next book soon. The narration by Steve Field was excellent. He created voices for the many characters and brought them and the story to life. I received a free audiobook code for my honest review.

To the Moon, or Mars, and Back

Enjoyable sequel to "Simon: Not Your Average Superhero." A lot of the mystery surrounding the making of superheroes was revealed. Ends in a cliffhanger, which isn't ideal, but will be looking for the third book.

Ends in a Massive Cliffhanger!!

This is something that Upsets me and many others, ending a book in a cliffhanger and not even having the next book available. There was not even a aprox date the next book would be coming out. As a New author this is a great way to LOSS anyone interested in his writing.
Because of this I Do Not Recommend this book.
Narrator does a good job with the various characters and the Entire Storyline.
