About this listen

Morgan Mackenzie had a very bad day.

First at work, then at home, and then her bathtub fell through a portal to another world, with her in it. Now she's stuck thousands of miles from any sort of civilization with nothing but the bathtub and a lace puffball scrubby. But she learned magic, so that's sorta nice. Now if only she could find some clothes....

Interesting for sure

I like it, but the whole forced nudity thing just feels like a it much.
The narrator is what kept me around for the rest of the book, love her work. When Laurie Winkel and Jeff Hays work together...they kill it, probably one of the best pair to have narrating LitRPG audiobooks.

a strong new series

this is one of the strongest new series I've seen in a while, and in a market oversaturated with weak and very messy (not to mention very badly edited) self-published novels, this one shines. it has a solid and well laid out plot, great characterization, and even the side characters have a strong presence of their own. there's no instant gratification in this one, which will put off those people looking for junk pulp fiction that's all action and no plot, but you can't please everyone.

the only thing I didn't like was that there are way too many POVs (which seems to be the trend atm). it's within a tolerable range for now and I've been able to skip the few I had zero interest in without problems. though I've never listened to her before, the narrator is quite decent, which is an added blessing.

I was sad when book 1 came to an end, reluctant to part with these new friends, and that is the best compliment a reader can give. I hope the author keeps up this quality and level of writing in future installments.

i thought it was pretty good...

honestly, people come here and trash talk the book... well, maybe its just not a style you enjoy. personally I really like the fact that most of the book is narrated thoughts. I enjoy the fact that it gives us a deeper understanding of how the character develops. I don't mind the naked = powerful thing because she's only as strong as she is BECAUSE she was forced into this completely naked and alone in the woods with no way to really thrive. I do dislike several tropes in the story, but overall to sum it up I thought it was pretty good.

Wow-- Great RPG Book, want sequel

"Fantasy is silver & scarlet, indigo & azure, obsidian veined with gold and lapis lazuli. Reality is plywood & plastic, done up in mud brown & olive drab. Fantasy tastes of habaneros & honey, cinnamon & cloves, rare red meat & wines as sweet as summer. Reality is beans and tofu, & ashes at the end."

delightful

Not raunchy, but also not for kids.

I loved the characters, and it felt long enough that the plot doesn't feel rushed. Narration is fantastic, as Laurie Catherine Winkel always is.

A very Interesting new take on litrpg

To the people who stayed just because the mc is naked . . . to each their own. The story takes a different approach to the whole "I fell into a new world and then did everything other stories do where they get gear, levels and join a adventurers guild" no this story flips on that and gives the mc a completely lucky and yet unlucky series of events that force her to stay naked because she will literally die if she doesn't. The only thing I can say I didn't like was when a chapter focused on some random person other than Morgan. Like I literally couldn't care less about some person Morgan may or may not meet. I almost cared at the Oracle part but the second the Oracle said she was going to find the fortress I was like ok cool now can we get back to our mc. The story has its own uniqueness it doesn't expressly focus on the details of our naked mc it's more like the writer goes hmm she's naked now nothing to do about it but move forward and adventure on. Morgan does get overpowered really quickly later due to her 100% learning bonus to everything so that's a thing. There's also a bunch more humans from earth running around the world now and the world's system is looking for stories. the only question it leaves is "will Morgan be forced to end some of them or save the world from them" because it seem super obvious from the Oracles descriptions of these other earth people that Morgan had the most dramatic arrival and nothing really coming close to her So tldr the story is a different spin on the whole I am now in a different world genre and it's surprising well written as a cohesive Story plot
