Publisher's summary

Having lost the family ranch due her parents untimely death and their past debts, Samantha Marlow is forced to look for a job for the first time in her life. Accustomed to using her nickname, Sam, she is hired as a cook, based off of her resume, site-unseen.

Jake Dampier needs someone to manage his household while he manages his ranch. He never anticipated his foreman would hire someone without interviewing them in person, especially someone as young and beautiful as Sam. The last thing he wants is a distraction - but it may turn out to be just what he needs.

Entertaining and enjoyable story!

I was given this audio book free in exchange for an honest opinion. This story by Susette Williams is a sweet Christian romance. It is the story of Samantha and Jake. Samantha has just lost her parents and her family ranch. She's in need of a job and is hired on as a cook at Jake's ranch. There are several wrong impressions concerning the job. Jake and his worker who hired "Sam" believe she's a man. Sam thinks the position is cooking for all of the workers on the ranch, but she is actually just cooking for Jake.
Samantha and Jake become friends, and then a little more than friendly feeling develop. There are stumbling blocks in their way and misunderstandings. Will they be able to maneuver their way into understanding, forgiveness and maybe even the kind of love that lasts forever?
Good story and good narration by Nancy Peterson. Very nice to listen to.

Cozy Christian romance

I received this book for free from the author/narrator for an honest and unbiased review of the book.

This is a predictable cozy Christian love story. Sam is hired on to cook for what she thinks are the ranch hands, a lot of people, but in reality, she is hired to take care of Jack's house the head of the ranch. They immediately fall in love and predictable plot line...
The narrator did a good job but this book just did not catch my attention, it was predictable and no depth, if you like just cozy and predictable then this is for you!!

Happy Reading/Listening!!!

Light Christian Romance

I enjoyed listening to this audiobook. It is a good story with some misunderstandings to create some drama.

There are multiple POV scattered throughout the book. It makes it easier to understand what multiple characters are really feeling.

Sam gets a job working for a ranch as a cook. She thought she would be cooking for several of the workers but she has a surprise when she gets there.

The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life.

Christian Romance

Something about Sam by Susette Williams is a story about Samantha Marlow and how she gets a job working for Jake Dampier. Jake is looking for a cook and housekeeper so he can concentrate on managing his ranch. From the moment they meet, you can tell there will be much more to their story than a boss/employee relationship. This book is listed as an inspirational romance. There is a lot of religious moments in this story, so if you enjoy that, this book won't disappoint you. My only complaint is not knowing what happens to a couple of the characters in end. I felt like I would have liked to know more. Other than that, the main characters had a good storyline and it moved along nicely.
Nancy Peterson is a terrific narrator. She captured each character in a very heartfelt way. I hope to listen to more books read by her in the future.

The Story was a Short Quick Christian Read

Would you try another book from Susette Williams and/or Nancy Peterson?

Yes.

Any additional comments?

** a Few Spoilers **

The story was a short quick Christian read.
I always like when the a Point of View is from the Male and Female lead.
I did get a bit annoyed when Jake tried to force her to choose between him and her best friend, Jonathon.
There were a couple of misunderstanding but they were able to work them out.
The narrator did a good job, I liked when she did the voice for Zeb.
