Publisher's summary

Have you ever met someone and immediately knew they were meant to be yours?

If someone had asked me if I believed in love at first sight, I would have said no. But that was before I met Calli.

It’s not just that she’s the new girl in town and everyone is curious about who she is. It’s so much more than that. SHE is so much more.

Calli is a breath of fresh air, and I can’t help but notice how she lights up the room when she smiles.

She’s so down to earth, and even though I make a complete ass out of myself every time I try to speak to her, she doesn’t seem to mind. Heck, she even says yes when I ask her out.

Things are going great, and we’re truly connecting; because that’s what happens when you meet your soulmate. Until suddenly, they aren't.

Like the moment I drop the L-word and she doesn’t say it back.

Which is confusing because her actions say she loves me, even if she won't say it back.

Something is holding her back and keeping her from moving forward with me. I want to show Calli I’m there for her and that no matter what comes our way, we’ve got it. But how do you take one step forward when the other person is taking two steps back?

Content warning: Early onset dementia with a secondary character, main character is care taker.

"If I lick it, it's mine!"

Something to Believe In is book #3 in the Whiskey Mountain series. Dylan feels unlovable as he always falls for women that don't return his feelings. When the owner of Cravings (Calli) catches his eye, he decides to take things slow. Calli is back in town to care for her mother who has dementia. She has her new business, her mom, and is afraid a relationship will spread her too thin. I was so glad to finally get Dylan's story. Dylan is the ultimate cinnamon roll, all gentlemanly on the outside and a spicy dirty talker on the inside. Just yummy! He has always been the support for Maggie and Ramona, so this was everything! And Calli's bff, Paisley, WHOA! She's a spitfire. I can't wait for Paisley and Maverick's story! I'm such a huge fan of this author and this series is just fantastic! This is a standalone, but as with any small town, there's a lot of crossover characters. READ THEM ALL!!!

The narration was great. Jaime Carnucci does a fantastic job with all the voices, even that pesky bird! 5 stars!!

Samantha Baca doesn't disappoint!

I love the latest installment in the Whiskey Mountain series. This one features Dylan and Callie. I love finding a shy sweet cinnamon roll hero who is so nervous around his crush that he get tongue tied! Even if he is shy at first he still manages to sweep Callie off her feet but will she allow herself to stay that way? Her life centers around her mother who is dealing with dementia and her new business. Callie doesn't feel like she has anything to give when it comes to being in a relationship. Don't miss this quick read if you are looking for a hot small town book with all the feels!

Good Story

The story is good and even charming in places. For a novella, it is well developed and includes the right amount of steam to be interesting but not overdo it.

Overall, the narration is good; however, I missed the fact the chapter and perspective changed a few times, which left me confused as the male/female "voices" were almost identical. I don't recommend listening to this book if you are doing an intensive task for this reason.

Back to Whiskey Mountain!

Calli just moved to Whiskey Mountain, opened her own business and is now the caretaker for her mother who was just diagnosed with dementia. Dylan spots Calli at an event in town she is catering at before she has her business up and running. Dylan immediately knows Calli is the woman for him. When Calli's business is open, he pays her a visit, and with some help from her bestie, Calli agrees to a date with Dylan.

Calli is one strong, dedicated lady. She packs up and moves many states away to move in with her mother and help take care of her. She also has dreams and opens a restaurant called Cravings, and serves whatever her mother is craving that day. Calli quickly learns that small towns come with big love when she starts feeling overwhelmed with everything.

Let's just say Calli is one lucky lady too. Where can I find me a Dylan? He's sweet all the time, and not so sweet at the perfect time. He worships Calli and, not to mention, Dylan actually listens to her and follows through! *swoon*

I was more than happy to have Jamie Carnucci back in my ears 😊

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You love small town cinnamon rolls with big hearts.
