About this listen

Maverick Thompson is downright infuriating.

It doesn’t matter how incredibly good-looking he is or how his dimpled smile makes my panties melt. He can turn the charm all the way up, but he'll never thaw the icy walls I put up after the last time he canceled our date.

See, Maverick doesn’t do commitment. He’s made it very clear that relationships are not his thing. That is until I take the possibility of one off the table, and suddenly, it’s game on for him. He claims to be different, but I don’t trust this so-called reformed playboy front he’s giving me.

I know that it’s just the thrill of the chase for him and that he wants nothing more than to say no one is off limits for him — which is why I won’t give in.

But nothing could have prepared me for what would happen when we got stranded together during one of the worst storms to hit Whiskey Mountain.

Trying to avoid Maverick would be easy if we weren’t forced to share the same space— and a bed — in an effort to survive the storm. Suddenly, things are heating up in ways they shouldn’t, and my resolve is quickly fading.

I know I shouldn’t trust someone like Maverick, who never has love on his radar, but I’m falling quicker than the snow that’s keeping us trapped inside. It’s a dangerous and slippery slope, sure to cause more damage than the blizzard raging outside.

When one night changes everything between us, it’s no longer just my heart on the line.

Maverick + Paisley 😍

Maverick keeps canceling his dates with Paisley and now she doesn't want anything to do with him. Unfortunately, in a small town, that's not always an option. They find themselves stranded together in a snowstorm with no end in sight. Maverick sees this as his opportunity to get Paisley to hear him out and Paisley does her best to keep her guard up.

The Queen of the snowed in trope strikes again! I loved the ending of book three in this series where Maverick and Paisley met and couldn't wait for their story. I loved how Maverick was against relationships, but was soon begging Paisley to be in one. I also loved all the banter and how the two ended up slowly working together to get through the storm. I'm sad we've reached the end of Whiskey Mountain, but I know there's lots of greatness ahead in Samantha's upcoming books!

I've really enjoyed Jamie Carnucci narrating this series and I'm excited to see what she has coming up next!

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You're looking for a fast paced snowed in trope that doesn't revolve around a holiday with some super fun main characters.
