Publisher's summary

I thought things would get easier after my oath to the mafia don of Venice was fulfilled, but they've only gotten worse. My ex-boyfriend is in a coma. The greatest threat the magi have ever faced has neutralized 71 percent of our species and is hell-bent on 100 percent. No one knows where he'll strike next, except maybe the enemy-turned-ally whom I have no choice but to trust. My new love interest has asked for an impossible favour and there's still no sign of Janet, the woman who was kidnapped on our watch. Our forces are hanging by a thread, and the mysterious orbs have yet to prove useful.

We are out-gunned, out-matched, and we've been out-maneuvered. I'll admit things look bad. But I still have a few cards left to play in this battle to save the remaining magi, now I just need to find the guts to play them.

Wow, just wow

Just finished listening to this book. It was amazing. A. L. Knorr has out done herself on this the last book in this series. Also a fantastic job by Marni Penning on performing it. She went far beyond just reading the book. I listen to Audiobooks on my drive back and forth to work. My commute usually is between 30-45 minutes. While listening to this book one of my trips was actually 4 hours do to emergency road repair. I spent that time happily listening to Source Fire. A great way to deal with getting stuck in traffic.

conclusion

what a wrap up of Saxony's story. I didn't quite see the events play out that way but what a series this has been.

EXCITING FINALE

WOW, buckle up princess, you are in for a ride. The tension and intrigue during this fight to solve the mystery of fire theft and the end game of the villain will keep you sitting for hours and reading till the wee small hours. The detail and emotion will take you away from this Covid madness into a fantasy world this author excels at. While it is sad to finish a series I am sure another series will start soon, I look forward to it.

Good finale

What an ending!
So different to what I was expecting, and I liked that about this story.

Sax is just strong enough for me to relate to as a character she’s not overly a sfc but her power is strong but her as a person isn’t overly so. I feel like I could relate to her thoughts.

I was left wondering this whole series what would happen with sax and the three main men In the series.

I havnt listened to the first series about all the female friends but I don’t think this is overly needed to follow the storyline. In this one we do meet both the siren and and half fae again:

Im happy I got to experience this series and I did enjoy the narration. Female narrator I believe is Canadian.

Series end

Great ending to this series. It certainly amazes me the vision this author has. She always paints a vivid picture with her words. She spins a great tale. I can’t say I was thrilled with how she ended the story but it had a fairly happy conclusion nonetheless. I suppose I never quite got over Saxony not ending up with Gage. But I do love Gage’s Mom’s explanation about first loves and growing up.

Interesting

A good ending to the series. The colors of fire were interesting. However, I felt like more explanation was needed for different parts of the plot. I was a bit upset with Saxony, she was almost whinny instead of the beast we know form other books. However, I get it she has been through a lot in the series and is just done. None of this stopped me form listening to the book, I was hooked and wanted to see how they would win. Overall, a good plot and a good ending to the series. I recommend you read this book.

The narration was good, helping me engage with the story. I definitely didn't want to stop listening. I received a copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Amazing end to this series

Had a great time reading+listening to this final book in Ms. Knorr's series. She is a wonderful writer, in the sense that this is one of the few fantasy YA series I have read that have it all: great characters, great universe building, amazing plot (which has twists you do NOT see coming) and it simply makes you want to devour the book.

The Elemental Universe has multiple small series/trilogies in it, and this is the last book for the current series about our Fire Elemental, Saxony. I strongly suggest you start her series at the beginning, otherwise you might not get lots of the lore/references regarding fire mages. All I can say about that is that this book uncovers A LOT of the mages' background as a species, while there's also a power-hungry mage that wants to own all the fire power for himself.

I read the book as soon as I got an ARC (advanced reader copy), on fast forward, in about 5 hours. I simply had to see how it ends. Then I re-read it when it was officially released and I got my paid-for ebook copy, and I enjoyed all the nuances and subtleties I did not have the patience for the first time around. Yes, I found it that good that I had to read it twice! Now I'm binge-listening to the series on Audible while I drive and do house chores and the story is just as awesome as the first time(s).

PS: fans of her other Elemental series are in for some surprise cameos. Get this series!!!

An Outstanding final installment

I absolutely love Abby’s books and this one doesn’t disappoint. Saxony and Tomio set out to find more stones before more fire mages get snuffed. It’s a race against time as they work together with Ryan their one time enemy. They are outmatched at every turn but don’t give up as they are the only ones who have any chance of succeeding. Don’t miss the last book in this series. It’s Abby and Marnie at their best.

Awesome ending

I really enjoyed the ending to the series. Definitely make sure to read/listen to them in order as you will be lost otherwise but it is so good you would like as just it self
But would be lost. The characters are wonderful and the world it is charismatic. The main characters are so interesting and this narrator really brought them to life. So vivid and realistic to listen to. I so enjoyed it I did in a day. The whole storyline was a suck you in and you can’t wait for more and now it’s over and your like WHAT! This is a great series and you can’t go wrong and the finale was awesome with lots of drama and interest in it. Great book! I received this book with promotional credit and this is my honest review.
