Publisher's summary

A ghost-turned-private investigator must rescue the souls of murder victims to atone for his mortal sins.

Jake Fletcher is an ex-exorcist. No, that wasn't a stutter. Once upon a time, he evicted ghosts for a living, at least until he got killed and became one. Now he works the streets as a phantom detective, offering his services to lost souls trapped between this world and the next. But will good deeds buy him a ticket to the Good Place, or is he destined to walk the Earth as a phantom for all eternity?

In the spirit of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, mystery, scares, and the paranormal collide in this bizarre noir. The Spectral Detective, Three-Book Collection combines the first three books in the Spectral Detective series: Spectral Detective, Corpse Reviver, and Twice Damned.

First contact

Just finished listening. Thoroughly enjoyed. Seemed out of order, which is a pet peeve. Hoping for more audio books. Helps me through my work time.

great box set

I absolutely love the spook detective. I love getting all 3 books for one credit. Urban fantasy is one of my favorite genres. Uncanny Kingdom is amazingly talented at putting out excellent entertainment

big thumbs up for this noir mystery

good fun as sardonic private dick ( as in detective) does his British Philip Marlowe still through three mysteries. literal underworld with first unsolved supermodel murder, two the dead arising to kill the scum of the earth and finally a journey to the bad place to recover jazz hands inventory. the narrator was excellent with right British accent to carry off the part with panache and right amount of sardonic humor. well worth the listen. look forward to more if Jake Fletcher , Spectral Detective

Amazing urban fantasy series!

In my book, this is as good as Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files. Highly recommended to urban fantasy fans!

So that's how a Spectral Detective operates

Jake, the spectral detective is the luckiest stupid detective I've read/listened to since detective Dev Haskel. Difference being Dev is a living horn dog. I can't say I didn't like the book but I can't admit that I did so I guess I'm caught in the middle, trapped in limbo kinda like Jake. The 3 stories flowed seamlessly from beginning to end I found myself interested in how he was going to get his stupid ass out of the next situation that he seemed to walk into with his corporeal eyes wide open. And don't get me started on his wife, OMG I'm pretty sure I know that woman. However, since he (Jake) used the......oops I almost gave it away, oh well I guess you'll have to get the book and then we'll talk. In short BUY THE BOOK!!!! P.S. Mark Restuccia was the perfect narrator.

Unusual and intriguing!

Spectral Detective: A Three-Book Collection: An Uncanny Kingdom Urban Fantasy
Spectral Detective Collection 1
By: David Bussell
Narrated by: Mark Restuccia
This was quite the series! Unusual and intriguing! It covers the first three books and the prequel called "Death Day". This poor guy goes through so much but keeps going! He's got spunk! He runs away from the office where the dead go to be sorted. That takes spunk!😁 First he is a guy that does exorcisms for a living then he gets murdered. Then he takes up being a ghost detective. He deals with not only other ghosts but demons, vampires, and more. Never a dull moment! Clever, great characters, and terrific fantasy!

#teamjake

I almost gave up hope, but got salvation and redemption at the 11th hour and end of the book. I was teamjake from the start. He had a good heart and got takem in by evil doers time and again. I found this entertaining and interesting and enjoyed it. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.
