Excellent follow up. Great Civics lesson

if you don't value your freedom after this book, you are hopeless. This book really demonstrates the path we are inching down, where the military is a separate elite vs the civilians. Reminds me to vote for my freedom, not for my freebies.

Shallow characters make it hard to buy into the story. Repeatedly highlights characters weakness without seemingly to learn.

Interesting follow up from the first book but is .

What made the experience of listening to Stark's Command the most enjoyable?

Jack Campbell continues the story about Stark and it is exciting to see how military force can possible cope with those circumstance that they are in.
Good story and thoughts but is slow paced in some places where the author is explaining the environment at the moon again in same words as in the first book, especially after you have read the first book. The characters are well defined and have good background.

What other book might you compare Stark's Command to and why?

The book that I would compare Stark's Command is Swarm by B. Larson that is based on fast paced military thoughts in space.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to finish the third book.

Starks Best Yet

If you could sum up Stark's Command in three words, what would they be?

Fan Smegging Tastic. Just like Jack Campbell's other work, Starks Command doesn't fail to disappoint. The intriguing story line and colourful cast of characters helps brings Starks universe to life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

By a far margin, Stark is by far the best character. His ability to command his troops while keeping a cool head on the moon.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favourite scene is when Stark and his army are attacked by infiltrators.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There are a few parts of this book that made me laugh out loud.

Great story, Characters & Narrator

This is one of my favorite "go to" series when Im out of a new book. Jack Campbell is an awesome storyteller. Im on listen number 6 of this series over the last 2 yrs since I first heard it. Its still as fresh, interesting & engaging today as it was first time thru. Maybe even more so. Great narrator also. I have listened to all the series written by this author. I think they r all very good.

The story improves

What did you love best about Stark's Command?

This is a great improvement on the first book in the series. The story is better rounded and less corrosive that the first. A good listen ...

What was one of the most memorable moments of Stark's Command?

Spoiler alert. Stark is more human like and less of a demi-god in this book - this is seen in the way he handles the death of friends and civilians ...

An interesting military Sci Fi

This is book 2 in the series and you need to have read book 1 to understand what is going on in this book. Looks like a series you MUST Read in order. Sgt Stark is now in the leader of the military on the moon after the mutiny. In this book he must bring control and motivation to the military and improve the relationship with the civilians in the moon colony. It is interesting to watch how Stark gains leadership of large groups and understands the politic in the negotiation with all the parties on earth, i.e. the corporation, the military and the government. There is military action both army and naval as well as suspense and a hunt for a spy. Great book in the tradition of the Lost Fleet. Eric Michael Summerer does a good job with the narration.

Solid start to Jack Cambells career.

I love John G Hemry. Lost fleet, pillars of reality are both awesome. These books are his early work. It's clear he matured as an author. His later stuff if better but these books are still worth a quick "read".
