About this listen

Actress Cassidy "CJ" Hayes is famous for her role in The Alchemidens, a fantasy show where she plays a kick-ass heroine. Her rising success has brought her quickly under Hollywood's glaring spotlight. It's also gained her the unwelcome attentions of an obsessive fan who wants more than just an autograph.

Aiden Darrow is both a well-respected screenwriter and a writer of lesbian romances. As a big fan of actress CJ Hayes, Aiden is astounded when the woman of her dreams ends up moving into the house next door to her. Their attraction is undeniable, but Cassidy is understandably nervous about getting too close to anyone. Aiden, meanwhile, is trying to separate reality from fiction because Cassidy is nothing like the character she portrays so well. All through her childhood, Aiden dreamed of a hero to come rescue her, but can she be the hero that Cassidy so desperately needs now?

Thoroughly enjoyed this

I am a geek. I love super heroes and fantasies about women who are kick ass heroes too. I also have had a stalker since 1998. In his mind we are meant to be together and I am not a true lesbian because before I realized who I was I dated and was with men. This story brought those fears and feelings I have about my stalker. The love story is any geeks dream come true I absolutely loved this story. I highly recommend it. Also my fiancée calls me her Superman.

GREAT! Series, Please! Fantastic Characters, Scenes, and Narration

Ms. Davis painted rich characters who were complex and full of life, humor, and pasts. There is still so much to learn about Cassidy, Misha, Aiden, and the future of their work separately and together. I really hope I get to find out what happens next! This is a great story for all lovers of love, unabashed deep friendships, writing, the magical world of imagination, the art and sensation of screen and television hero-making, and any fan-girl/guy (of the non-sociopath variety, of course...)

Great characters

Not your typical girl-next-door story when the girl is a movie star. Great listen.

Really Enjoyed!

If you could sum up Starstruck in three words, what would they be?

suspenseful, fun, enjoyable

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the plot. It wasn't just a lesbian romance with fall in love, fight, breakup, makeup. The underlying plot ot the stalker was very well done.

Have you listened to any of Nicola Victoria Vincent’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, and I really enjoyed the performance. She switched between an English and American accent flawlessly.

Any additional comments?

I have just started listening to audible books. I have to travel weekly to visit my Aunt in a nursing home over a hour from my house. My wife, who is a HUGE book lover, turned me onto listening in the car. I actually won a contest in which I could pick from about 12 books and I picked Starstruck. I wasn't disappointed

i enjoyed the book as well as the narration

*This review is for the audio only. I have already read the book and wouldn't have pirchased the audio without liking it first.*

This is the second audio narration by Nicola that I have listened to and really did enjoy it. Keep in mind when listening to this that she is a Brit, accent and all (at least I assume so), so when she does the American parts it may come off odd...almost Boston accent mixed with, well, British accent. Not terrible by any means but certain words are pronounced differently and the ever present "r" at the end of words appear. Despite all that, I thought she did a great job. Her voice is great to listen to and she differentiates well between characters so you always know whose talking. If you liked the book then you'll enjoy the audio.

Great story

The story was both moving and heartbreaking. I loved the charecters even though they were both so freaking angsty.
The narrator was perfect in that her voice was awesome and all her American accents were very entertaining.

Accents A Problem

This was a pretty good mystery and not a bad love story, who knows how good it might have been with a better narrator. Said professional reader speaks with a British accent that she doesn't do much to disguise. Seeing as how the only character who is supposed to have a British accent is Cassidy, it seems a dubious choice. The mystery which centers around a man stalking Cassidy the gorgeous movie star is predictable though it's done well and the pace is good. The romance is also paced well and and the breakup scene is less contrived than many in the genre. All-in-all this one is a pretty good listen.
