About this listen

The moment Kate stepped into Noah Beaumont's office, she never expected to feel the sparks that she did. As she was hired to be his personal assistant, the two were expected to keep a strictly professional relationship - no matter how attracted they were to each other.

But when a work trip to the tropical paradise of Malaysia strands them on a deserted island, they are faced with a forbidden love that threatens to break their resolve.

As they battle against the elements, scavenging for food and fighting off predatory animals, their connection grows stronger and their passion for each other becomes more undeniable.

They also forge an unbreakable bond over a shared passion that’s going to be hard to break if they’re finally rescued.

If you’ve enjoyed the other romance novels in The Billionaire Romance Collection, then you'll love this clean yet sultry story of forbidden love between Kate and Noah.

It was pretty good.

This was a pretty good book in general. It did have a lot of cliches in it but it was pretty enjoyable. Brandon Peterson did a pretty good job with narration. I honestly liked his female voice more than his male voice but It was still enjoyable. I did feel like there was a lack of passion and chemistry between the characters, but the family issues between them gave them some depth. All in all was pretty ok.

I loved the narration of Brandon J Peterson.

A blind date, something in common. But not follow up. Noah and Kate enjoy the date, but neither contact each other. Kate finds herself going for a job interview and it turns out its a PA for Noah. Even with the attraction both keep it professional.
A work trip to the tropical paradise of Malaysia strands them on a deserted island. It is there the two find it hard to not to break their resolve.
They also forge an unbreakable bond over a shared passion that’s going to be hard to break if they’re finally rescued.
With the love of art and hot kisses these two find romance.

clean romance

This was a clean romance about a couple who was originally set up on a blind date. they had a great time but the MMC doesn't know how to use a phone. He never contacts her again. By coincidence, the FMC ends up applying and was selected as the personal assistant for the MMC. There's a no fraternization policy, so they don't pick up after their first date. He takes her on a business trip and their plane crashes on a deserted tropical island where they learn about each other, become friends, and start to fall in love. they are rescued and are both swept up by their families but the MMC's inability to use the phone causes some strife. The book is well written and the narrator did a great job.

Not for me.

Honestly, this was awful, due to tons of clichés, poor writing, and continuity and plausibility issues. I did see it through to the end, always hoping it’d get better but, it didn’t. That said, you may still like it—tropes it hits:

Blind date / set-up.
Forced proximity.
Second chance (at love, not w/ each other).
Widower.
Billionaire.
Workplace romance.
Forced proximity.

With both leads artists and a demanding parent on the scene, it had lots of potential, I suspect this story could’ve been pulled off with a stronger writer. Unfortunately, this favored lots of telling instead of showing, repetition, and unrealistic dialogue. It also had, what I think was supposed to be angst? But I just wasn’t sold on it.

2 stars—poor, but I’ve read and heard worse.

🎧Audio:
The overall sound quality was good, so thumbs up for production, however the narration itself was terrible. The voice was fine, for the most part, though a few of the voices he attempted to use for different characters were truly painful to listen to. Cringe-fest. And at times he performed the piece, though at times he also sounded robotic. I think with some practice he could be a decent narrator, but on this production, he was not.

not for me

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. DNF @ 80%. I'm sorry but I couldn't with this book. It started out good but after the first 10 min it was just annoying. Too much back and forth bickering. Not enough romance and entirely to clean. The narration was not helpful at all. This was not my jam.
