Publisher's summary

Getting lost in the woods was never this much fun.

When Hans Jager and his sister, Greta, have to return home for the holidays, the last thing he expects is to run into his childhood best friend, Chester Wild. Even more surprising is when Chester pretends to be Hans’s boyfriend to protect Hans from his wicked step-mother’s wrath. Seeing Chester again makes Hans realize that he might feel more than just friendship, but can he risk spoiling what they already have?

Chester has always loved his best friend. But Hans is straight, right? When they find themselves stranded in the woods, everything changes, but for how long? A dark family secret could undo their magical reunion, and Hans is feeling more lost than ever. Could Chester be enough to guide him back to true love?

Sweet Tooth is a steamy, stand-alone MM romance novel featuring a scrumptious sweet shop, slow dancing to Elton John, an explosive family dinner, a loyal puppy, a very naughty use for candy canes, and a guaranteed HEA with absolutely no cliff-hanger.

Great Listen

I enjoyed the book and dove right in for the narration. I wasn’t familiar with this narrator but it was great. I could get lost in the storyline and just enjoy it coming to life.

Sweet and Steamy

I absolutely adored this fairytale retelling and will never look at a candy cane the same way again. Hans and Greta found their way home to Gingerbread for the holidays. While Hans is in his favorite sweets shop he finds Chester, his best friend, working there. I loved that Hans and Chester got a second chance to find out they really were meant to be together. This story has it all and should be enjoyed again and again.
Narrator Kieran Flitton does another amazing job. I just love listening to him.

Deliciously Sweet

A deliciously, sweet childhood friends romance. Hansel and Chester were adorbs what with their unknowingly requited crushes on each other. And the story was expertly tied with classic Hansel and Greta themes. I’ll be honest had had my doubts as to how HJ was going to modernize the classic childhood tale. And shame on me for doubting her. Child abandonment, a sweets shop owned by a cranky witch of a woman, and best of all were the many creative uses Chester had for said sweets. Like really. I may never look at a candy cane the same way again. LOL. All the elements were there, but the most tantalizing part of this entire tale had to be the big reveal of the stepmother’s evil machinations. So much anticipation was built on that little dinner party and it did not disappoint. All of this was boosted by Kieran Flitton narration. I just loved his posh British accent. And I felt he did justice to both male and female characters.

A Sweet Fairy Tale Fake Relationship Turns Real

I was already a fan of this e-book, so pairing it with narrator Kieran Flitton's delicious voice and British accent made it a surefire 5-star listen for me.

"Sweet Tooth" is a delightfully sweet fairy tale retelling with cinnamon roll MCs and a heartwarming second chance love story. Hans and Chester are former childhood best friends, now grown and reconnecting - and facing unspoken deeper feelings that've always simmered underneath - when Hans returns home with twin sister Greta after a 10-year absence. Shyly dancing around each other as they get reacquainted, the two plunge into a fake relationship to spite Hans's stepmother and really are quite adorable together as faking it gives way to their true feelings and some truly steamy and swoony moments. Their HEA is, quite appropriately, deliciously sweet.

For all of this sweetness, though, it didn't result in sugar shock as Hans's stepmother proves quite wicked in her decade-long effort to estrange the twins from their father, and the strong secondary characters - most notably, the fabulous Greta - also help balance out the story. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Hans and Chester

This retelling of Hansel and Gretel was too sweet! Hans is the mayor's son who left his hometown with his twin Greta. They left because of a misunderstanding on their part. Hans left his best friend Chester behind and didn't keep in contact. When he and sister return back home, he runs into Chester at the sweet shop they both loved and that Chester now works at. They are totally awkward around each other, but you can tell they both have deep feelings for each other. Due to certain circumstances they tell a lie that they are dating. What happens is your typical troupe. They end up growing closer as the learn more about each other to be convincing as a couple. I loved these two. The fact that they both loved each other when they were boys and didn't say anything because they were afraid to lose their friendship is the best. As always Kieran's voicing of these fairy tale characters is perfect.

Hans and Chester

A retelling based loosely on Hansel and Gretel we see a friends to lover Sweet story. Enjoyable but characters voices were similar and sometimes hard to distinguish who was talking if not giving 100%

Sweets for the Sweet Tooth

This was a sugary sweet story about two old friends that have the opportunity to come together. An about time type story where the two MCs get through the time that has past to make a future. Add in narration by Kieran Flitton and you have a great wintery tale. This was a perfect listen by fire type book. And I will never look at a candy cane the same way again!

A Romantic Take on a Classic

I really enjoy it when MM authors retell classic stories or fairy tales and this was a great example of how good taking a fresh approach on an already known story can be. This is a sweet and romantic tale that is low on the angst which makes this the perfect listen for when you need something heartwarming and happy. Kieran did a fantastic job with the narration. Overall, I'd highly recommend this as your next listen.

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: easy pace, charming characters and an entertaining story.
There isn't anything to not enjoy in this modern twist on Hansel & Gretel. The characters both main and secondary are likeable (or not likeable if you're the step monster), the town is charming and it all feels very Christmassy.

🎧 Narrator comment: I enjoyed Kieran Flitton's narration, his Brittish accent suits the characters, he has good cadence, inflections and intonations and it's easy to distinguish the characters from each other. Overall an enjoyable performance and he bought the story to life.
