Publisher's summary

A man who must choose between his love or his life in this dazzling tale, named a Romantic Times Book Reviews all-time favorite. Rachel Rivers is the most beautiful woman that Brand Selby has ever met. From the moment he laid eyes on the proper schoolteacher and watched her tremble beneath his longing gaze, he knew he wanted nothing more than to win her heart. But Rachel lives in a land where hatred for the Indian runs deep, and where she is courted by Texas Ranger Jason Brown, Brand’s sworn enemy. But the fate of Rachel and Brand’s love has already been sealed, and not even the prospect of Rachel being cast out from her own kind, nor the threat of Brand’s own demise, can extinguish the flames of desire in their hearts.

Historic Adventure Romance with a Suspenseful Plot

This was a great book in the historic American settlers genre. The story was well thought through with mean villains and even more cunning heroes. The romance develops in a believable way and the characters and their social standing are well described. The plot is very suspenseful and takes some nifty turns. And the hero is sexy! The narration is very good, although I'd preferred a male reader for this one. If you like a Comanche Half-blood aiding a witty damsel (and vice versa) - you'll like this one.

Old Fashioned Easy Going Listen

This is a very sweet love story between Rachel,Rivers, who is a beautiful, , well educated Texan and Brand Silsby who is a handsome, half Indian warrior. This story is very predictable but still kept my interest with its good verses evil and prejudice theme. Its an old-fashioned, easy going, tender story that's hard to resist. I would give this book an overall 3.75 stars.

This story is part of a series and at the end of this book it gives an excerpt of the next in the series "The Oregon Bride". This has peeked my interest even more and will be listening to the next in the series.

ok

I really wanted this story to be good knowing the daughter Rachel Rivers would be better off having a education and becoming a teacher she would not be too simply minded like her mom but I guess wrong it's like I am reading the same book with different names the same foul languages inappropriate touching some one always getting hurt I can just imagine the dumb things Joshua will be doing I can't read anymore from this series
